Title: "Some Assembly Required"
Post by QnHeartMM on Mar 2nd, 2009 at 6:27pm
Poor Joe. His brother LIED. He bought a new gas BBQ and told Joe there were only a few screws to put the thing together.

After little discussion, we decided to purchase one (Joe's birthday IS coming and I DO hate dealing with charcoal).  Well Joe, with his dad as his (helper) have been out there for quite some time putting it together. While I haven't heard ALOT of swearing, I do see some perplexed faces now and then.

His brother LIED!  Or, if you look up SOME on webster-merriam.com you will see  some: being an unknown, undetermined, or unspecified unit or thing. It should say: ALOT OF SMALL PARTS!!!! [smiley=hammer.gif] [smiley=headbanger.gif]

Aww Christy - tell me the instructions aren't beside you while you're typing? LOL

Poor guy's probably read the instructions, that is the 1st mistake.

2nd is look at the pic on the box and make it look like that.

3rd, call the wife aside and have her read the instructions.

4th, have a beer break boys, you have done good! [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=me&mb.gif]

;D ;D ;D

Hee hee, Helen you have even a more evil mind than I do! No, they have the directions and the cute little tool kit that came with it. :) That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I'm surprised to hear that they read the directions.

Usually I don't--on the theory that I don't need no steenkin' directions.  It's a bad theory.

More often than not, my daughter has to pull my a** out of the fire, and put whatever it is together.

I let her.  It's for the best.

George

Brings to mind the last time Jimbo and I put something together.  A rather large and detailed computer desk.  Damn near caused a divorce.

I ALWAYS read directions, that way I can whine about them

My weber grill had AWESOME instructions.

GOOD LUCK JOE!

LMAO....All I can do is laugh.

Blake and I just hung some drapes and about had a 'knock down-drag out' over it.  Thank goodness there weren't a bunch of small parts.

Poor Joe.... ;)

Directions are key.. but they have to be read from the beginning, not when something doesn't quite work (I either read 'em or weep).  Be careful out there!

Unless I'm there interpreting directions for Jesse, he thinks he puts something together until I point out the "extra" parts lying around. ::)

Not quite finished yet, Pep.  We've saved the biggest window for tomorrw's 'fight night'.

In another thread Joe said something to the effect of...good thing I am a Police officer.  If I had to build things....well anything I build or make...falls down.   LOL

Good thing his Dad is there Christy.
