Jenn and Daryl are alive and well......but without power, landline, internet, heat and water. In fact she was shocked she could get her cell phone to work. I picture her standing on one leg while holding on to a copper pipe to get a signal. She reports 13-15 inches of snow in Inthemiddleofnowhere, VA with temps tonight in the low teens.

They are huddled under massive piles of blankets trying to stay warm until power is restored.

I dunno if heat can be sent via vibes, but if ya believe in that sorta thing, fire some their way......sounds like they need it.

We had the strangest thing I've ever seen here in MKE today. 14" of snow at the airport and points south and east to the lake. Nothing in the rest of the metro area.

They call it Lake Effect Snow - I'm sure Charlie's familiar with the term.

If most likely unable to travel or leave, a worrying situation with delayed utility response.  Middleofnowhere may take awhile.

Any news on Jen and her family yet? This year has been record setting for power outages around here.
I fortunately live in town so our power is first to be back on.

Be safe all of you and check in ASAP.

I'd send her one of my generators (we have two now), but I dont' think it would get there in time.  The last time we had an ice storm (snow is uncommon this far south), the electricity was out for 4 days (some people did without for 2 weeks) and we went without water longer than that.  Didn't take much for us to decided that preparation was key to weather disasters (I keep at least 16 gallons of water put up).

Try to keep warm.

I'll send all the warm vibes I can from South Carolina.  It's a little cool here, but we missed the snow.  If it doesn't warm up by Friday I can really send some, it will be 78 here.

MUTHAFUCK was it cold here last night!!!! When I broke the frozen blankets and crawled out of bed it was f'in EIGHT DEGREES with no f'in HEAT!!!

Thanks for the "heat waves" all.  We went to MIL's this morning to thaw out- the power came back about 1-2 today.  Pipes in the laundry room were this close |-| to freezing!

We still have no phone, and we're trying to get things back to normal here and nice HOT chili dinner is on the stove!!!

I'll be off and on for a while but I'll be available via YIM when I can.

Its good to be warm again!

Good to hear from you Jenn, sorry about no hydro. We are looking into alternative, or back-up heating source and a little power to run the frig mainly so we do not lose any food during these power outages.

So gald to hear you didn't turn into a Jencicle.

The spouse has nagged me for a couple of years to move south and although I've always said they'd have to pry my dead carcass out of this house to get me out of here,  I may just have to reconsider - I don't "do" cold.  

Sex.........before dinner...........  hmmmm.   I'd settle for just sometime    Maybe if I agree to move?
