Title: ...Mine! Post by Pixie-elf on Mar 8th, 2009 at 11:23pm
So, today we had a picnic with the nephews. Well, first of all, we brought my cocker spaniel with us since our boxer mix still hasn't returned. (We've still had sightings of her, with a grey dog. We still hunt every day...)
Well, Marcos will be 2 on April 17th. Little Jose liked to feed the ducks, Marcos however, did not want to at first. So I spent about an hour following him around, and keeping HIM out of trouble on the playground. I wanted to give his Mom a break. (I try to anytime I'm around.) So, later on, I noticed a couple of puppies, took Aurora/Little Bitty to meet them. She'd visit with them, and I'd take her back to my Grandpa... Well one of the puppies was a cute little Pit-Lab mix. I adore pit bulls (I give our neighbor's a treat each day.) Anyways, I 'introduced' Aurora to her, then took her back. About 20 minutes later, Marcos was standing beside the picnic table. I was standing up beside it, because he was. Then I noticed him looking at the pond. He decided to haul ass. I started running along with him, Brandi got up and followed. So I'm running along beside him, and he starts to say 'Puppy! Puppy!". I look, and guess where he decided to head. RIGHT for the 8 week old Puppy. She was white with black spots. So, he runs up, and stops a few feet away, chirping 'Puppy, Puppy!" so I asked the owner if he could pet the puppy. She said sure. So he starts to pat it, and puts his hands in front of it's face to see if she'll lick him. She doesn't, but she does lick his face. So he wound up tickled, and so did the owner. He patted it a few more times and was pretty excited, then got to looking at the leash. The owner handed it to him, while Brandi and I were saying 'no no' to him trying to take it. She was pretty cool about it all. 'Oh no, it's fine.' Anyways, the puppy stood there, with him holding the retractable leash, he petted it, and then starts walking towards the picnic table the rest of our family was at. "Mine! Mine!" since the leash was retractable, and was set to 'loose' he didn't end up pulling the puppy with him, the leash just lengthened. Brandi and I started to crack up. "No, that is not your puppy...the nice lady did not just give her to you." "...Mine!" So Brandi asked him if he wanted a puppy. "Yeah! Yeah! Mine!" We took the leash and handed it back to the owner and thanked her, then, after we turned around, we suddenly realize where little Jose is... ...He's sitting with a man, and his son, holding the son's fishing rod. Apparantly he'd walked up to them both, started talking, and the man decided to let him fish. My Mom, my Grandpa, his Nana, and Papa Jeffery Dahmer (his Nana's fiancee. She taught the kids to call him that, since his name IS Jeff.) were all watching, and laughing. They hadn't saw what happened with the puppy, because they were too busy being amused at little Jose going up, making friends, and then fishing. Marcos also at times calls me 'Mine'. He hasn't been able to say Yumi, or Mysti. (Little Jose couldn't say You're Mysti, so he started to call me Yumi.) The other times he calls me Yayi, or Mami. So, just like a puppy, I'm property. o_o;;; Anyways, PFDAN. Mystina. |
