Hi Charlie.  I'm new to the board but I've read your posts for a long time.  I don't want to be accused of age-ism, but I know that you have an old computer and I'd like to suggest that you get a new one that doesn't have tubes like the old TVs and has a keyboard instead of a dialer like the old telephones.  Maybe instead of repairing it, you could sell it for a lot of money as an antique and get a modern one!  Bye the way, I have relatives who live in your area and my sister went to Fredonia College and I even visited ONCE.!  Keep well and get back on line soon! :)

I'm using a library computer for now. It's faster than the piece of shit wonder that I have at home. :o

Actually: NO. My two geeks have given it zero days to live and tomorrow it goes under the knife for a replacement heart. I wish I could afford a nice new laptop or something but alas, I will settle for a new hard drive. My geeks said that they've never seen whatever this horror is.

I now believe in psychic stuff. Just before this thing crashed, I updated and even expanded all the backups. I went nuts and backed up stuff that I never thought would be needed.  :o
