Title: Hello From HS!
Post by HSJones on Mar 13th, 2009 at 6:04am
Hi!  I don't like my first name so just call me HS.  I've had chronic CH for 10 years and it was great finding this site-I'M NOT ALONE!  It took me several years to find a doctor to properly dianose me!  I was so tired of being told that the headaches had to do with my menstrual cycle, even though they occured almost every day and my mentstrual cycles did not last for 365 days a year (and 366 in Leap Years!).  I'm glad to meet you all.  I don't write much but I will contribute what I can from time to time.  All the best to  you all, sufferers and supporters. :)

Hi HS and welcome. You have found your sanctuary. There is a wealth of info to read here and many, many people to help.

What is your doc doing for your CH's as far as what abortive's and prevents? There are many options these days to fight the beast. Most of us find o2 is our #1 abortive.
100% o2 with a 15 LPM regulator (or higher) and a non-rebreather mask, no outside air what-so-ever! Get on it at the very first sign of an on-coming attack.

There are many prevents available also. I personally take Verapamil, but many other options are available, talk to your doc about these. Print off some info from your left and show your doc, or even better, have your doc check out this site.

Sorry you had to find us, but you are not alone with these anymore. Others will be along soon to say hello and offer some advise as I did.

 Barry :)

Heya HS I'm so glad you found us! As Ray asked, give us a run down of what you're using, what has and hasn't worked, maybe we can make some suggestions to talk with your doc about! Hope you're getting some relief.

Joe
