Title: Don't you just love it when.. Post by LeLimey on Mar 16th, 2009 at 6:56am Someone calls you just after your seven year old son has been hit. You don't give them your full attention as, selfishly it would seem, your mind is elsewhere. You do however let them know that your baby has just had a fluffin' attack and you ARE talking to someone who knows what CH is all about. Several hours later you finally go to pick up your emails - let's face it, you haven't felt much like being part of the world.. and you get a long email full of crap and not one mention of "How's Jasper?" Would anyone else think "well up yours" or is it just me? :( |

I probably wouldn't *think* it, I'd say it. How is Jabs doing?

"Up yours" works!
I suppose, to be kind, could there be some reason the other person was being a tad self-centered? Perhaps something not so nice going on in their world? Either way - the more important thing would be - how is Jabs doing? Give him a hug for me, okay? Hugs Carol |

Up yours would certainly work....and if it was me, I'd add in a few extra measures that would be within my 'abilities'...
That poor little tyke, he's such a strong lad - he has my admiration, and your whole clan inspires awe Helen. You and yours are the very epitome of embracing life and living it to the fullest; I bow to you. Tell Jasper he's my hero! Cat |

That would be the "G" rated version, and I never go "G" version!!
Whoever that was, doesn't deserve you as a friend...you deserve SO much better!! Much love to you, Jasper, and Brid! Hoping the day goes well and he's doing ok! Love you! |

Helen,
I'm so sorry to hear that Jasper's hurting. [smiley=hug.gif] How is he now? And I'm so sorry that your friend didn't ask about Jasper. That is a huge mistake on your friend's part. Hugs for you all, Sanna |

Mine would be 2 words.... one starts with F.. the second word would prolly be "off" or something to that effect, but hey, thats just me.
Hang in there love, and give Jasper a hug and kiss from all his aunties and uncles here! (and the one he gives back is from all of us to you!!!) |

Well... they make caller ID for that very reason.
I had a friend who would often respond when I would ask "How are you" with... Why would you like to know? Are you a doctor? I stopped asking. Another acquaintance refused to shake my hand held out in friendship... when I persisted... he said... "Yes I know... you offered me your hand in friendship and I have rejected you." This was at an O.U.C.H. convention" I don't dislike these people... nor do I care to know why the y rejected me... I am now indifferent. I guess life is not always the pleasant little friend-fest that we hope for. Regardless of how much we want it to be so. Some people are just thoughtless when you need them to be most thoughtful. The best we can do I guess is to try to be as nice as possible. I hope both you and Jasper are feeling better. with warm regards, Tony |

I'll say it yet again.....there's no explaining some people's ignorance.
Up yours is good or Jen's reply would work well too. Some people!! >:( Love to you and the kids... Jackie |

I understand you're hurt and I shudder to think of these things being imposed on someone so young.
If the person was my friend, I would wonder what they were going through at the time to make them appear to ignore something so important in my life. I've certainly been known to unintentionally hurt people I love because I got too wrapped up in my own CH's. |

Hope things are better for Jasper and that you'll think about using a slightly more expressive retort next time.
"Eat shit and die" might work too. :o Charlie |

Jasper is okay, thank you everyone. He's been very quiet a couple of times and rubbing at his face and kind of grinding his palm into his eye but he hasn't complained and much as it's killed me - I haven't asked him about it either. He does have his droopy eye in the afternoons for about an hour but that's all.. and I hope it stays that way.
I know I've told a few people but I don't think I've described it here - I got hit a couple of weeks ago and he was with me the whole time. Afterwards I was quiet and kind of hurting inside my head - like I'd been scrubbing it too hard, bruised feeling - you know how hard it is to describe. Well, he managed it. He sat beside me and asked how I was and when I said I was sore inside my head he patted my leg and said "I know mummy, it's like sunburn inside your face isn't it?" That's exactly what it's like (for me) and while it amazes me that at 7 he could explain what I can't at 43 it just beats me right up too. He's just too damn smart, too perceptive and about something I wish he didn't even BEGIN to comprehend.. GOD I HATE THIS SHIT. :'( |

Give that smart little guy a hug for me will ya? He gave as good a description of afterburn as I've ever heard.
I hope the beast looses both your addys. In the mean time, loose that e-mail addy too. You have enough to worry about... [smiley=hug.gif] -Dennis- |
