Coach Fixx called all the girls from the swim team yesterday.  Megan is on the team.

One of the girls from the team, Amy, a friend of Meg's committed suicide this week over spring break.

I hadn't met Amy, but I do know a few of the other girls from this circle of friends.  Meg is taking it quite hard. As I'm sure the family and the rest of the team members are.

Please send whatever you have out to these girls and to Amy's family and other friends.

Such a tragedy.

Oh that is just horribe Pegg. We will pray for the girls on the team and the family of the young girl who took her life.

OMG that is just terrible. Your daughter must be devastated. My condolences to all involved. I hope that the school sends in a grief counselor to help them all deal with this. So sorry.

Oh man, I'm so sorry for Meg.  What grade is she in?  I remember when I was a Junior a friend did the same thing.  

My prayers to her and the child's family.

Meg's a junior, but Amy was a sophmore.

What sad and painful news to hear, so much more so for Megan and Amy's family. What is happening to our society ? when our children feel so desperate that they dont see any light at the end of the tunnel ?

I am so sorry, Pegg.  This is going to be a most difficult time for the kids.  Lots of unanswered questions, "why didn't we see it coming, why didn't she come to us", and more.  I hope the school does provide a counselor of some type.  This is hard enough for adults to deal with, much less kids.

My heart goes out to the parents of the girl.  They must be going through hell about now.  A parent should never have to bury their child.

I'll be saying prayers for everyone involved pegg, especially the family.

Every time I hear something like this I cannot get away from it without the question of what in the world could be so horrendous in a 14 or 15 yr. olds life to make them resort to this choice?  They haven't even had a chance to experience the sorrows and joys of life yet.  

Her family must be just torn apart with grief as well as  questions just like the one I always find myself asking.  What a tradgedy.   :'(

Pegg and Megan....All the prayers and good vibes I can muster are coming your way.

Having been touched by the same horror in my family I can only say make sure the ones close to you know you love them. Say it out loud,say it often,say it from the heart.

Redd I am so sorry for your friends tragic loss... That is a horrible burden for a teen to bear in this already trying troubling time... wow.  I have a teenage daughter too so I feel your daily battles.

Things aren't going to be easy for Meg at all.  The funeral is set for this Saturday, and Meg is due to be in MN for a Choir Tour all weekend starting Friday.

Just a damn shame.

Since there hasn't been any reports locally in the newspaper, all there is is rumors floating amoung the students.

Meg said last night, that it ws supposedly a gunshot that caused the death.

I can't fathum a 16 year old girl using a gun instead of an overdose or some other less violent and messy method.

Something in my gut tells me something isn't right about all this.
