Title: New here Post by Michele F. on Mar 24th, 2009 at 8:56pm
Hi,
I'm Michele. 30 yrs old and had the same headache since May of 08. Started vomiting in July 08. I vomit about 4-5 days a week/ several times a day. My pain seems to spike to its worst about 3:00 AM. I have had a number of tests run and the current thought is I have cluster-migraine hybrid headaches. I have had migraines before and this is a different animal. I am currently taking Namenda, Melatonin, and doing O2. If the Namenda doesnt work, I am contemplating Lithium. Glad this group exists to learn more about these headaches but I wish we could meet on different circumstances. Blessings, Michele :-* I am also doing a 4% Lidocaine nasal spray up to 2xs a week that seems to work well. I had to get that filled at a compounding pharmacy but it was worth it. |

Welcome to the board. Be sure and read the 02 link on the left as HOW you use oxygen is critical to its degree of success. Two keys are a high flow regulator and a non re breather mask. The link has pics and everything.
Lithium has been my preventative medication forever. I take 1200 mg a day while on cycle, blocks 70-80% of my hits. Hope it proves as succesful for you. Glad you found us and welcome! Joe |

Hi Michele,
Has it been constant for 10 months? |
Title: Re: New here Post by Michele F. on Mar 25th, 2009 at 5:51pm
Yes, constant since May, which the Drs tell me really kicks it out of a cluster headache diagnosis? So confused. They found a cyst in the brain with the MRI but the drs say it is unrelated. My MIL thinks I need to see a neuro-surgeon. I am tired of the drs and the tests. Today, I heard someone talking about mold and we have a terrible musty smell in our house (rental) and in doing research severe headaches, nausea, dizziness, vision issues are a sign of mold poisoning. But where do I even go to look into something like that?

Hello and welcome,
Your right about one thing, It is a totally different animal, and so far no one has been able to kill it yet, But we have all learned how to try our best to fend it off, we have somewhat learned to track this beast, and you are the same. So learn here and get yourself ready to kick some beast ass! Be Well.. Coach Bill 8-) |

I agree, it does kick it out of the cluster class, and definately sounds like migraine symptoms. Thats a good thing believe me.
There are lots of different types of migraines, sinus, tension etc etc. Finding the one that matches the symptoms you have is the best way to treat your headache. There's lots of information on the web that can help steer you in the right direction. Sean........................... |

Michael,
Get the health dept out to your house to check for mold. That stuff is dangerous and could make you very sick. If it is mold, your homeowners insurance should cover the clean up, but everything in your house will have to washed down with bleach and all that stuff killed. We had a rash of it around here a few years back and it was a real problem. Get it checked out.... Hugs BD |
