It is raining here, last of the snow melting, but we still will get labeled with at least one more kick-ass snowstorm or two! But maybe you just got our snow??? [smiley=yikes.gif]

Drive careful if traveling. It will melt, and cover your outdoor plants!

Wow, we are still a few weeks out from tulips.....

It could be worse, though, if the hyacinths got snowed in, that would be a travesty....

Not sure about the peonies, but the tulips will be fine. Snow is one of the best mulches around. It'll actually protect plants from any really cold air that comes in behind the storm. It's when it gets really cold and there's nothing protecting the plants that they'll buy the farm.

That reminds me, I should get the shovel out and dig out our outdoor plants soon, spring is here!!!!!!! Thanks for the tip Bill, if they are covered by whatever, they are protected from the cold that "kills them"

But we're a caring, compassionate lot and realize that those who don't spend 9 months indoors huddled around the fireplace need some reminder of what we go through for most of the year. We share the glory and bounty of Winter with all!

So we didn't wake up to 15 inches of snow....BUT we did get 3 inches of ice and 2 inches of snow on top of that! YUCK! My dad called he lost power last night around 9:45, he's about 15 minutes from us out in the country!

An hour west of here got 28 inches!! :o It's still coming down pretty good...we're expecting another 3 inches by noon!

Gonna go light a fire and pray that we don't lose power!

Ummmm ok, I'm well and truly familiar with snow - and hubby is a meteorologist - but when I read this statement from National Weather Service for Wichita - well....I just don't get it

Steph,

It's been snowing the whole day today in here and as far as I can see, it's not even close to stop, either. So we've got our share of that "white crap" in the streets and garden. And here I was, hoping and praying, that this year I'd get to see daffodils and tulips blooming on my mid-April birthday. Not a chance to that now!

It's funny... disincluding me, mom has five neighbours: two of whom are retired and in their 70s and a couple in their 40s with a 11-year-old boy. Quess which two got rid of all the snow this afternoon while mom was away doing charity work?

Yup, me and the lady in her 70s! Well, her hubby is excused; he was away from the city, but the rest... I don't get it, really. I'm 28 and I've been doing my share of all the snow works around here more than 20 years now. For the first time mom has neighbours who are not doing their own share and none of the common areas. Strange behaviour, considering, that the man in that family kept on telling me few weeks ago how much he loves snow works - and he wasn't ironic, sarcastic nor cynical.

Some folks... :-X Now, how many 000 shall I put at the end of the bill? ;D After all, some lazy cityfolkes do pay others to get rid of the snow and I thought, heck, I'm not doing them free either! ;)

Well it no more unloaded another 3 1/2 inches on us and an hour later it was melting off the roofs and trees. It is now 43 degrees, blue skies and sunny! Go figure...

Its snowing here again too. Oh well, atleast its not below zero. I really don't like riding in below zero weather. But Spring is here, and the snow will be gone before I finish cruising around today.
