New york equity firm KPS buys Wedgwood!!
"We are going to accelerate transfer of activity from the UK to Indonesia" labour is 85% cheaper than the UK but we will try to keep some of the high end products in Stoke on Trent.
Donnngggg there goes another 700 jobs,
I Suppose why pay a decent wage to the workforce when you can pay with a bowl of rice!!
Com on govner its genuine onest, its the box thats made in the east.

For once, I understood what Cavalier's talking about ;D. Appears that a New York Company bought Wedgewood and they are going to be outsourcing what was once British jobs to Indonesia.

Unfortunately, that's been going on in this country for awhile. Some mfgs. have found out the hard way though that cheap labor produces cheap products.

Well, I bow to you then Carolyn. TY ;)

All the good products that were made anywhere... will be outsourced to China (ususally) Cavalier. In the US we've already seen that for many years now.

Is it a shame? ...You bet it is. Indonesians will make a totally inferior product off the back of artisans who created it in the first place. There ARE those who will know the difference however.
