Title: Ghosts, do you believe
Post by cavalier on Mar 27th, 2009 at 10:06pm
Just going to log off and go to bed, something has blown on the back of my neck, didn't dare to turn around and sat looking at the screen. It went eventually and now i've got the prospect of locking up, turning off the lights, walking down the hallway up the stairs along the landing and into bed. This isn't the first time, (hope it's female)
Going to hide under the covers.(im such a wimp)

AS a former owner of a haunted house, YES!

It was SO KEWL!

I miss my buddies! (A man, possibly the father, and two children: boy, about 10 and girl about 8 )

After multiple experiences within my family, with guests, and with talking to previous owners, YES, it was haunted!

Sure do.  Meet the lady on the wall.  This was taken at a family grave yard on the grounds of an antebellum home.

Actually, it wasn't me who spotted her.  It was someone else and then when I started showing the pic to different people, they saw her too.  If you look to the left side of the wall, you can see the outline of her.

You should get a recorder and put in a fresh tape...Then ask the question---"Is there anyone else here?" Then play the recorder back --if you hear an answer--you've got a visitor. It is called EVP. Ghosts do indeed exist. Worked at a haunted residence when I was in high school. The stuff that happened was beyond strange

Don't worry that was just you guardian angel. They do exist even if you don't believe it. I have felt mine touch my hand many times in my life. It doesn't feel like a human touch and of course you will see nothing.

I have personally seen angels, after being blown off the road with my sister who was alergic to the cold, 4 young men drove up, lift the car back onto the road, then blew a path through the drifts ( which were higher than the car roof) so I could follow and get home. When I got past the drifts the tracks disappeared.

I have also seen a spirit, It walked ( well floated really) across my front lawn at night. It was there but you could see through it. It left no tracks, and didn't reply when I said hello. It disappeared as soon as it hit the road.

I tend not to believe that ghosts are dead people but that they are just part of the spirit world. Then again King Saul had a medium bring Samuel back from the dead so it is not impossible.

I didn't see it either until I brightened it up a little. The woman is circled, but she does have a mighty big nose.

Dont play with EVP unless you know what you are doing. It can play harvoc with one's psychological health.

I know EVP is not for the whole community. I worked at a house in Sneden's Landing, New York which was unbelievably haunted. The whole area is full of history. The exact house that I worked at was purchased by Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke--when they were still married--a few years ago. If you google Sneden's Landing you'll see the story. I don't think that they stayed one night---and they refuse to tell anyone what happened---just that they were spooked.

Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman have also been forced to flee from their dream homes by spooks they can't shift.

If Uma and Ethan had their way they wouldn't have left their plush 18th century family home in swanky Sneden's Landing, New York, but they were driven out by spooks.

The couple had only just bought the house in 1998 in the star-studded hamlet when they discovered it was haunted and fled back to their city apartment.

The pair are still too freaked out by their experiences to speak about them, but local historians can understand -- they claim all the houses in Sneden's Landing are haunted.

Once when I was about 20 or so and living with my Mom, I woke up in the middle of the night to go pee, but I felt someone pushing my head down- sorta like the thing didn't want me to see it.  When I forced my head to turn, I saw a little old lady dressed in white.  She even had sorta of a veil on.  At this particular juncture I decided there was one thing to do...I screamed my head off for my mommy  :-/.  We had to sleep with all the lights on and she had to sleep with me for a month, until I found my own apartment.  :-[

Some of my friends say I was hallucinating from being half asleep...could be, you never know - but I can still remember her face 20 years later.

Greetings...this is David the ultimate skeptic circa 2001. If you talk about ghosts, spirits, souls, or any other of that nonsense prepare to have a belittling NY'er laughing in your general direction.

Hi, I'm Deanna. Thanks for contacting me on match.com David. How bout we meet for dinner?

Groovy Deanna. Give me an address and time and I'll be there.

Okay to pick me up at 7:30 this Saturday at the house I rent on Shallowford road.

That's when it all started. Picked up the mighty DeAnna who promptly informed me that she was living in an antebellum home here in Georgia that was a makeshift hospital during the war of 'northern aggression'. Additionally, she said,  I have daily interactions with 'the Captain' who was a slain army captain during said war.

Riiiiiight.....(David thinks if you weren't so attractive you'd see dust from the skidmarks of my rear tires. )

We eat, smooch, and wind up dating for about a  2 months or so. During this time I'm pressing her relentlessly about the fictitious 'Captain' that she demands is both present and real. I inform her that despite how cool I find her this whole ghost issue gives me real pause. In fact, during one or two of her recollections I simply burst out laughing and was treated to a scowl and lecture on respecting people's beliefs. Well, she's right, but damnit, I couldn't help it! When I told my mom about the captain she said oh, "did Tennille ever show up?" heheh

Now, to be fair, I have to admit the house was a skosh creepy. It had mortar of some kind between the wooden boards on the interior attesting to its age and the one time I was alone there I wished I wasn't. Nevertheless it was likely the unknown jitters.

Soon thereafter we were kissing on her couch and an errant hair, likely from one of the 3 dogs or 2 cats that resided there had hit me on the cheek. Then again. Then again. Intermittently I would brush this invisible hair from my cheek and return to the action at hand. By the fourth time I jumped back, exclaimed "what the fuck is this?"  whereby another 'hair' touched the back of my neck. Folks, NSF was freaking. Gazing upon DeAnna she was in a belly-laugh complete with watery eyes and stomach holding. I, however, wasn't laughing at all. She said "david relax, it's just the captain messing with you." Ruh roh.

Two further incidents happened including a breeze out of NOWHERE in the kitchen blowing my hair up, the papers off the counter, and curtains seemingly defying the laws of gravity.

From this time forward, I'm a believer. It was clearly not an easy transition and future happenings too creepy to detail here occurred even without DeAnna present. My sincerest apologies to all those whose worldview re: ghosts, supernatural, and anything else unseen I lambasted in the past with merciless ridicule. You were right, I was un-indoctrinated.
