Title: Work Post by jacqui on Mar 30th, 2009 at 8:30am
Hi everyone,
this is really rude because I haven’t even introduced my self properly but I was hoping I could do that when I'm feeling a bit better. its been 7 days and I think i'm coming out of it and after 4 days off last week i went into work today and I think they are going to fire me. I'm a mess, I work so hard when I'm good and I really really try not to take time off i've had 9 days off since the beginning of December and they said if i have any more they will consult a dr to see if this 'condition' of mine makes me unsuitable for my job (so they can fire me without legal ramifications). I’ve given them letters from my dr’s and always offer to work weekends to make up for days off but they don’t get it. I have tried every treatment and most drugs but i realise it cant just be fixed and i am learning to manage them better its just so slow... I hate that I have to feel like this again – I gave up my career as a lawyer because of these evil things and I feel that horrible useless feeling again. I know I’m smart and hard working but these things are killing me and what I want my life/career to be. I'm feeling the pain right now and the thought of going into work tomorrow is really horrifying to me. I don’t really mind if no one reads this and if you do i’m so sorry but it does feel really good to get it out. Did i even write this msg in the right area? can't stop crying sorry Jacqui |

hi Jacqui!
Sorry you are here, but glad you were able to find us. I don't know what to advise you concerning work other than to explore options for abortives that work quickly enough to be able to continue. Not knowing the severity or the frequency of your hits that is a bit hard to help with also. For most of us Oxygen works wonders, and if gotten quickly enough and used properly will knock out at hit in less than 15 mins. It may take you a bit to recover fully from the effects, but enough to be able to continue working. Personally I like to use an energy drink like Red Bull. If I slam one as fast as I can drink it at the first sign of an oncoming attack I can usually stop it, or at least keep it to a manageable level within 5-8 minutes. Often quickly enough that I don't even have to discontinue what I'm doing. Lately I've been using the little 5 Hour Energy bottles. They don't tear up my stomach as badly as slamming one of the carbonated drinks, and I don't get the jitters as badly. Maybe not quite as quick on the pickup, but effective overall for me. Read the Oxygen info button in yellow on the left, and follow it carefully. It must be used properly for any relief, but has proven effective for most. There is a tremendous amount of info available here. Please take advantage of it. Also, post back and let us know how you are getting on. Venting is welcomed. Whining is not. (You were not whining!) Feel free to ask questions. Most here are more than happy to help out. We were all new at this at one time ourselves. Jerry |
