Title: any one else color blind?
Post by Charlotte on Apr 1st, 2009 at 9:36pm
I am mildly tritan color blind, which just means my s cones are mutated or damaged, and I mix up colors in the yellowish/violet/green areas and everything I see tends towards blue.

It is much easier to live with than the other kinds of color blind because I can see almost everything.

I've been talking to a grad student in Adelaide Australia who is doing a study on blue light resetting the internal clock.  So far I haven't actually learned anything, just answered a bunch of questions.  I won't actually be able to participate because I can see blue and she is looking for people who cannot see blue to see if the blue light still resets their clock.

Just wondered, is anyone else color blind?

Charlotte

Me either. Legally blind without my spectacles, but the full spectrum is there for me.

Me neither. But maybe that is part of why your paintings are so breathtaking?  :)

My son in law is colour blind to the point that my daughter used to lay his office attire out for him in the mornings so he didn't go to work looking odd!  He now goes to one place to buy his clothing and they make sure whatever he buys will work with other things in his closet.

When their little girl was about three she used to take great delight in getting Daddy to name the colours so she could tell him he was wrong!

It's 3am in Ireland. If i look at this computer screen any more i think i will skip colour blindness and go straight to total blindness. CH's really screw with my sleep.

Good night to all and have a pain free day....!

I am brutally colorblind.  It is the reason I am a CTO instead of an MD.

No, not color-blind.

Oddly enough, my overall vision has been improving in recent years.  I don't wear glasses or contacts anymore, and I just passed the vision test for my driver's license renewal without glasses.  First time I've ever done that.

Weird.

Best,

George

Yes, red/green.  Something I inherited from my maternal grandfather along with CH.

That's the very same test I take at my annual eye exam.

Good thing I have the numbers memorized.

Just kidding.

my hubby Joe sees both also, Oliver.

The kind of color blind I am is referred to as blue/yellow.  The test my optometrist used was a sequencing test, and the way it was originally identifed in kindergarten & later in high school was my not seeing green properly.  I also can not see some yellows at all.

Tony.  I loved that test.  For once in my life I am normal.  Everything else about me is abby-normal but at least my color vision is normal. 8-)

Life is good.
