Owl of some sort.  But nothing I've seen before.

Check out the feet--many owls can do the two-toes-forward thing or the three-toes-forward thing at will.

Remarkably small facial disk.  Very prominent beak.  Prominent ear tufts.  Very large DARK eyes.  I'm not used to seeing large owls with dark eyes.  Barred Owls have dark eyes in North America, but this isn't a Barred Owl.

Good view of the nictating membranes when it's getting its head scratched.  I think the light-colored eyelids are pretty cool--might give the impression to mobbing birds that its eyes are open when it's perched during the day.

Juvenile?

In short, I don't know.   :)  Knowing where it originated would help narrow it down pretty quickly.

Best,

George

If you listen to the person in the video, they are NOT speaking English (sounds like some type of Spanish dialect).

Bahasa Malaysia is NOT a Spanish dialect, but sounds similar.

Have no doubt that you're correct.  Good call.
