Title: Pirates take two
Post by cavalier on Apr 9th, 2009 at 6:19pm
All the news surrounding pirates got me thinking about my great great auntie Penn, back in the 1870's she reportedly had a bakery on the cornish coast and she was a mean businesss woman who everyone respected. It was the days when you would barter for everything but was a little confusing! "what did i get for those eggs" anyway she decided to draw up a list and being a baker related it to her business.
it was known locally as the pie rates of penns aunt
Which if you haven't guessed already was turned into an opera
Gilbert & Sullivan: The Pirates Of Penzance.

Wait! There is a structural issue with the grammar in your construct.  Is the Aunt named Penn?  Then we should speak of the pie rates of aunt Penn.  If you (or a third party) were named Penn, only then would it make sense to speak of Penn's aunt.

The paradoxical odyssey of a mind in abandonment may yield a modicum of grammatical mistakes..........
Oh bugger it what the hell,

YUP.  You hit the nail right on the head Joe.

They had rulers too when you didn't  'get it'  and mean eyes.  And they always smelled like starched linen.  Oh, man you just brought back so many memories.  If that weren't bad enough I went on to send my kids to Catholic school.   I wanted them to have memories too, ya know.   ;)
