Title: Make your vote count-Pictures
Post by deltadarlin on Apr 14th, 2009 at 5:52pm
I will be bringing one picture with me.  There are 3 different sizes 8x 10~matted and framed, 11 X 14matted and framed and hopefully 16 X 20~framed (I hope, I'm having trouble with the 16 X 20 ) to choose from.  All matted and framed (except for the 16 X 20~framed only).

There is a possiblity that I will be entering at least one of these in a art show this summer.  Which one do you like best?

Number 1 has an ominous "dark road ahead" feel that is kinda creepy, yet kind of neat at the same time.

Not unlike the uncertinty of the future, dark and unknowable.

I like the second one best.  I thought the yellow double line was a distraction and my eye kept going to it - maybe if it was a country road with no markings.

I'd say #2 also.

#1 for story content.  It includes the Human componant and proportionally the 1/3-2/3 rule evident.

Where is it?

Good luck.

Both of them look good framed (dark gray matting with black frames), not that I'm prejudiced or anything.  I just gave a go at getting rid of those lines and it didn't work like I wanted it to.  Actually, the lines are deliberate, they lead the eye (at least they did mine  ;D).  Might should call the first one, "The Long and Winding Road". The second one "Rainy Days and Mondays Get Me Down" (and it actually was a Monday).

Steve,
Don't know if you've ever heard of it, but that was taken on the Truxno Highway between Strong and Farmerville, just about 3 miles inside the Arkansas line.  It's a bada$$ road, lots of curves, no shoulders and log/chip trucks.  And being the log trucks run on it all the time, you can guess the condition.

Well that's

1-4
2-3

FWIW,

I had EJ and Ellen look at the two of them as well, and we're unanimous.  #1.   ;)

Best,

George

When I scrolled down to the bottom and saw the road the combination of the desolate feel and the lighting made me think of Robert Frost's "The Road Less Traveled".  I know it doesn't really fit the picture, but that was the first impression I got.

I liked both, but #1 called out to me.  (Maybe it's cause of the call of the road.  It makes me want to go!)

Well now, that's 7 votes for *1* and 3 votes for *2*.  I may end up bringing them both, each in a different size.

I'd buy it (not that I have space for any more art, unless I start putting it on the ceiling)

I like #1 best but think both are fantastic.

Well now, that's 1 having 10 votes and 2 having  ;)4 votes.

Lizzie,
That's supposed to be mirrors on the ceilings, not pictures  ;)
