Title: In or Out...! Post by Lefty on Apr 21st, 2009 at 5:56pm
I've just recently come out of a very very long 3 month cycle..! [smiley=me&mb.gif] yet i continue to read all the posts and it got me a thinkin, I wondered how many of you clusterheads that are posting are still in cycle fighting the beast or like myself have you been fortunate enough to come to the end of your cycle.
To the chronic Cluster Headers out there posting, well your just a F***@king inspiration to us all posting away with humour and dignity (well 99% of the time) ;) and basically leading by example on how not to let the beast consume one's life. Anyway I was just wondering who's in and who's out...! Hoping you all a pain free future...! Lefty..! |

After more than 5 months now I'm still in >:(.
I'm still waiting for the Verapamil to kick in, so I hope I can get back to you about this real soon. Glad you're out of cycle, hope the beast stays away 4ever (yes I know it's not likely, I even tried moving to another town, but still I like the thought!). [smiley=me&mb.gif] Here's to PFDAN! Hey Finn, that's not good enough sir...! only joking ;) Sometimes when you make a post it can be hard to convey the emotional sentiments that you hoping to portray..What I was trying to get out there was a supportive message that if your in cycle hang in there and hope it ends soon..! I think it also great to hear when one of us comes out of a cycle. Like Jimi i didney know if you were in or out of cycle but that's brilliant you haven't taken a hit since 2000 Happy days...! Been out of cycle since spring of 2006.
That being said, I first arrived here in 2000, and avoided it like the plague for six years--except when I was in cycle. ;) No good reason for it, other than not wanting to think about it. Decided to stick around after the last one. Best, George |

I'm In - Heeey I never thought I'd not want to be saying that :-?
I'm in the fourth week of my 3rd episode since Oct when my CHs began. Was just dealing with migraines for 5 yrs before... now it's CH, migs (which are Still easy compared) and I got stomach probs from the meds. HA they keep stacking it on... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH :o I do admire those of you who stick around anyway... This board has been so informational for me and I have gotten many answers/ ideas and offers for assistance with what I'm goin thru from it... So Thanks! Val |

Hey, now wait JUST a minute, here!!!
Are you guys trying to feed me a line of shit? Do you REALLY expect me to believe you? That there IS such a thing as being OUT OF CYCLE?? I may have been born at night, but not LAST night! Sheesh!!! How gullible do you think I am? I can only wish that each and every one of you go "out of cycle" and forever STAY "out of cycle" ... If there is such a thing ... ;) ;D Chuck, the non-believer |

I'm in. I've been getting these since 1999, and was (finally) diagnosed in 2005. I usually get a cycle the lasts 1 or 2 months every 10 to 12 months. Typically I get them in late fall or winter. Well, wouldn't you know, for the 2nd time in 3 years, I got them in the spring. To add insult to injury, I'm getting them only 3 months after I finished my last cycle. Chances are that even with the meds, I might be taking another ride on the pain train tonight.
BTW, today's the first time I've posted on this board in over 2 years. |

I'm an outtie!!! Missed my fall AND spring cycle.....so apparently I'm cured!!!!!! But I stick around because I'm the responsible adult that has to keep Chuck in line!!! ;D

I usually go for one full year in cycle but this one was much shorter for whatever reason (5 months) but am having the odd rogue hit in which my o2 takes care of quickly.
I came aboard here in Nov. 2006 and am here daily, whether I am in or out of cycle. The help and support I received here from you folks helped me tremendously and I want to pay forward to help others to deal with this crippling pain we share. Oh yea, it is also nice to hang around and talk with all the great friends I have met here ;) |

Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by ellenjoanne on Apr 22nd, 2009 at 9:54am
Well, luckily I had such a minor one last night (maybe Kip 3 or so - geez!, that's an alien experience for me!), that I only noticed when I woke up late at night to go to the bathroom. I was able to get back to sleep in short order too, without having to use my Migranal. Phew!!

I started hangin' out here last year in April ..... Introduced myself in May and went out of cycle in June. I stuck around all the months in between and even got the chance to meet lots of people in Jan. I'm back in cycle now but so far it is well controlled with Verap.
Congrats, Joe on your CURE! ;) ;D And Chuck.... How I wish you would wake up one day PF and stay that way FOREVER! [smiley=hug.gif] Jeannie |

You're lucky girl! I hope I can string 2 nights together PF. I had a shadow this morning, but it was no big deal of course. But you know as well as I do, that they're talking about the 70s or the 80s by Friday for temps. Another wild temp. swing. Geez!! This TOO much like the Spring 2006 CH cycle's wild temp swings. |
Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by DennisM1045 on Apr 22nd, 2009 at 1:30pm
I think I'm heading back in again :-/ Loads of shadows for weeks now. Only one real hit though.
I'm hoping if I just keep my head down it'll pass me by. ;D Yea, right... Been out of cycle since January. Don't know where that December cycle came from. Probably stress related. I usually get two cycles a year; late winter and then again late summer. They add up to 6 months on and 6 months off. Loads of variation in between. -Dennis- |

Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by sylverstar on Apr 22nd, 2009 at 5:05pm
I am so happy to know that there are people who are out! I didn't even know that existed until I got on this site a few weeks ago. I have been chronic for 6 years now, and once every 6 or so weeks I'll get a 1 or 2 day PF vacation, which I cherish! Last night I felt so good, I did not want to go to sleep so I could enjoy the feeling a little longer. Of course, it got me 2 hours later. But I am writing to let you people who are out of cycle know that I so much appreciate the fact that you stick around, offer advice, and generally help keep everybody from feeling so alone. Thank you all.

Out at the moment, since June, 08. Had my first long remission prior for three years. Prior to that was chronic starting in 93' and graduated to episodic.

I've been coming to this site for 10 years.
I was 'out' from 2000 to December 2008. I was 'in' December thru 1st of March. Had about 4 weeks 'out' but went back 'in' last week. The good thing is is the attacks ( 3 each night) are much less painful than 10, 20 or 30 years ago. |
Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by Pixie-elf on Apr 24th, 2009 at 12:05am
In. Since May 28th of 2008. I think 'out' doesn't exist, and those who say it does must be heretics.
BURN THEM. BUUUUUURN THEM!! Kidding of course. ;) |

In since 4 weeks ago for the 2nd time in my life. First time happened 4 yrs ago approx.
For the outies: Have you been consuming alcohol at all eventually during remission? Or have you avoided it like the plague for good? |
Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by DennisM1045 on May 1st, 2009 at 7:30am
I'm in again. Damn it. Been in denial for the last two weeks or so.
Going to try it without the Verapamil this time. If it gets too rough I have the supplies on hand and a phone call can get me a steroid taper. Loads of O2 and Imitrex on hand too. -Dennis- |
Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by jesbri on May 1st, 2009 at 8:18pm
This is the first season I've had that I've been in for more than 3 weeks. So far I'm on my third month with only a three week break. I had a break for most of today due to steroids, but I feel the burn starting again now. I want to whine and go back to being my three week twice a year mild ch sufferer, but I don't think it's going to happen...all well, no where did I put that eye patch so I don't wink at that strange gal in the corner when my eye starts to droop :D

Have to say I'm not a happy camper! :D Help me Tom Cruise! Help me Oprah Winfrey! |

Joined the original site in summer of 1999 with first ever cycle. Cycle ended, and I'm ashamed to say, I left the boards.
Rejoined in 2005. Have been out of cycle for over two years and loving it, but this place is my home. I try to stop in and visit every day whenever possible to see how my family is doing. And, j0hnglist wrote on Apr 28th, 2009 at 5:59pm:
when I'm an outie, you bet your sweet a$$ I "consume". When in cycle alcohol IS the plague, so I'm 100% on the wagon. Sandy |

Title: Re: In or Out...! Post by j0hnglist on May 11th, 2009 at 11:53am
8 days clusterfree. Although slight shadowing on a couple days here and there. My plan is to hit 14 days (hopefully!) and then wane off Verapomil and see if I am clusterfree officially for a while. Dear God I hope so.

I really don't know how to answer this question. I guess I'm alway in since I still get the rouge hit (last night), I may go another month before the next one, or I could get hit an hour from now. The thing is to always be prepared and never let the beast keep you from living your life!
pf wishes to all! Beth |

I'm in.. been in cycle a lot more days, than out all year.
I've only missed 4 complete days of work this year due to CH's, but have to come in late a couple times a week; spend lots of time in the conference room walking, crying and Praying and sucking up o2; 2 ER trips this year (because nothing I tried would work). But feeling the love of this family, helps to keeps me keeping on. Peace & Blessings Lady Luv |
