Just wanted to say hi, and looking forward to being part of this group of pain suffering people..... as far as my CH, had them for about 6 years or longer, just diagnosed last year, before that I pretty much just assumed i had a tumor or was dying

my passion is motorcycles(sportbikes) here's a pic of me on my previous bike(didnt have one of me on the latest bike on this PC)

Welcome to the board, sorry you had to find us but glad you did. When you get a second, please let us know what you've tried and how you tried it, what has and hasn't worked etc. The strength of this board is the combined experience of 10,000 sufferers! maybe you'll throw a new idea our way, maybe we can tweak your routine a bit to make it more effective.

And have you tried oxygen! ;) That'll sound like a recording after a while, it's enjoying tremendous success as an abortive!

Welcome home, let's see if we can work at reducing your pain a bit!

Joe

i've not tried oxygen, only thing i've found that helps is Sinus Buster nasal spray, it's pretty intense feeling but better than that pain

Welcome to the board.

Do investigate O2, many of us swear by it.

Bill

Edited to add: I see you are in Jefferson, NC.....I'm about 1.5 hours away.

Okay get thee to a headache doc who has some knowledge of CH and look into a 2 pronged approach:

1: a decent prevent. A med you take daily while on cycle, to reduce the number and strength of your hits. I use lithium.  Verapamil and topomax are other high percentage prevents. They'll reduce your dependance on your abortives....

2: a decent abortive strategy. Your first line abortive should be oxygen. Breathing pure oxygen,  I can STOP an attack in 6-8 minutes, that's completely pain free, Read the oxygen info link on the left as it has to be used correctly or its worthless. Imitrex injectables and nasal spray are also popular prevents.

A 2 pronged approach is not a cure but it beats staying curled up in a ball waiting for beasty to come beat you up! Wishing you some pain free time soon!

Joe

(who is about to turn 50 so he just sold his last street bike......sigh....the ravages of aging! ;D)

Tisk Tisk -- you boys and your bikes...  :)

Now get your fanny to the doc and get some O2 -- It's the greatest thing since sliced bread (Granny has spoken!!!). I've about quit (except VERY occasionally) using any meds to abort except the O2 - it just whips the demon's rear in no time flat.

If you feel one coming on when you're out on that bike, pull into a 7-11 and grab a Red Bull and chug it - that will "sometimes" kill it before it gets started.

But get on the O2 ASAP - In the past year, I've become a BIG PUSHER for that stuff -- Read the info on the left and do it RIGHT - it doesn't work worth a darn if not done properly and with the RIGHT mask.

Welcome to Clusterville....

Hugs BD :-*
