Title: He did something different Post by Dana on May 3rd, 2009 at 2:08pm
:-[ Has this little azz did this to anyone. Yesterday the Air Conditioning went out and not even 15 minutes later here he comes. He started on the left side so I ran outside and began to try and run while trying to message the back of my neck and in 20 mins he was gone it only got to a 6. Soon as I walked back inside and started to settle down good he came back on the right side. I mean storming back more powerful straight to 10. I could not do nothing to combat it because it was so swift. Do you think the sudden change in the temp would have made him act like that or was it just something that was bound to happen. I have had him bring out his twin on occaision and hit both sides of the head but never had him show out like that. I don't take any narcotics because of my high blood pressure any one got a clue or shared the same experience.

31 years and I've never switched sides. But I avoid over heating while in cycle as that can be a trigger for me.

Wow! That's a new one to me! I've never had that happen in the 9 1/2 years of having CH. The closest I've had to that is in April & May 2006, and my present cycle that started this past March (and seems to be under control thanks to Lyrica). I have Episodic CH that usually occurs in Late Autumn & Early Winter, and occasionally in the Summer. But it's only happened in the Spring, when our day to day temps have taken wild swings (ex.: a few days in the 60s & 70s, then back down into the 20s, 30s, & 40s - repeat this a few times in a row, and I seem get CH). Saying that your experience is not fun is putting it mildly!

** Raises hand, waving it in the air .. **
Me! ME!! That friendly (?) creature likes to mess with me and hits whenever, or whatever side he feels like doing, at the time ... OR, the beast is as old and senile as I am, and can't remember what side he is suppose to be on ... Chuck |

Well thanks for all the replies. Naturally as I sit here and type I swear this azz knows when he's the center of attention I got a shadow right now on the right side. I'm praying he does'nt try to bust through or jump to the left side. I'm at work in a different work section they will hane no clue as to what kicking the crap out of me. Almost reminds me of "me myself and irene" with Jim Carey and his inner friend "hank". God I hate feeling like his little b!@#h. I have literally rubbed the skin off my temple on the right side.

i hate it when it switches sides! It seems it always is sttronger when it hits my left side, but I think it is because I know how to deal with it better on the right. Heat doesn't seem to bother me, but I know it does a lot of others.
you said you don't hve any narcotics. GOOD!!!!! Stay away from them! THey will do nothing for you but get you hooked. All you will do is hurt, but maybe not care as much. That is at best. See Svenn's post "Dancing with the Beast" stickied at the top of the page. If your Dr tries to prescribe narcs for your CH fire him immediately and get another who knows something about CH. Jerry |

Thx Jerry, Years ago when he first moved in I kept telling the docs (military docs) the meds cant stop him. Last time I saw a doc he tried to give me percoset I told him they dont work and he told me he was the doctor and I was the patient. I just got up and walked out and he became the doctor with no patient. I absolutely hate the narcs I think it because the military tried so many drugs guessing at the beast. amitryptaline was probably the worst. I start with a new neuro next week I hear she's really good reccomended by my cardiologist.

Crossing our fingers and wishing you luck. Go in armed with a boat load of information, a touch of humility, respect for his station as a neuro, but confident in your ability to partner with him to plan your treatment. If that doesn't work kick him in the shin and demand oxygen! ;)

Wow, I am sorry this happened. Through the years I have had him attack different sides, but not usually in the same cycle, I think, like Joe said. I hope it doesn't last long. And yah, narcs are the worst! My drug of choice is o2!
