Title: A pressing engagement. Post by cavalier on May 9th, 2009 at 7:51pm
Maybe the boys out there can help with this one
Walking past the spare room this morning and feeling pretty buoyant, with my good wife standing ironing, Without thinking said “I’ll do you that love” “Are you sure” Yep no problem. That looks hot! Shhhit!!! It is! Now, when I looked at the task ahead thought no problem until picking up the fitted sheet. How come this board’s only 4 foot long and this thing appears to be 6? Where’s the bloody corner! Well I tried to fit it long ways and I tried to fit it short ways being careful not to knock the iron over which I almost did a couple of times until the dock stared me in the face. It used to have a piece of asbestos there but was removed, you know sshh! (Health and Safety). Anyway couldn’t decide how to fold and iron this sheet with Stretchy corners, so decided to try and work out the pleating. Went back down stairs, got the paper, pen and ruler out and thought “Triangulation” Have you every tried to work out true lengths of Elasticated corners??? Giving up even after in desperation trying the radial line method went back up stairs to the daunting task. In the end resorted to the clean the windows routine, do the middle leave the corners and hope she doesn’t notice. I reckon the girls don’t do the corners either. What do they say about us, men can't multi task, I think a lot of multi went into that task dont you?? |

Having on rare occasions had similar urges to take on a task on which I am clueless.....I've learned........best to just sit down, pop a cold one, and wait for the ill fated urge to pass! :D But that's just me! ;)

Gentlemen........the answer to this conundrum would be
1-dryers 2-high thread-count sheets........ Buy some gorgeous 800 thread count sheets, wash as usual.........dry as usual, removing from dryer as soon as they are done........ THEN(here comes the togetherness we wimmen all crave......... join with your spouse and fold them as a team.........VOILA! No wrinkles. as for the fitted variety. pinch up the 4 corners......fold in the excess and finish the folding process.......and, justifying the cost of the higher tc sheets.. they last forever!!! If you find this useful, please share with me any ideas you might have as to how to keep the sheets on a waterbed.......and how to keep the cats from chasing the air while laying down the top sheet...... Happy Housekeeping! Cathi :D |

1. Remove fitted sheet from dryer.
2. Stuff in pillowcase. Regards, Jim ;) |

It is really a simple formula to figure it out ... I just don't think that Deej has enough band width for me to type the whole thing out ... So, with that mind, resort to Kilowatt's solution ...
BTW, as a kid, we always used a "mangle" to iron those large objects. |
