Title: Through HELL and not back!!!!! Post by ocnprl on May 11th, 2009 at 12:06pm
Sorry I haven't been around the last couple of days. I've been having 3 or 4 KIP 10's a day. I was almost suicidal.
I usually pace fast, but this time, they hurt so bad I couldn't keep my balance and after about 45 minutes I cried like never before. At their peak, I even threw furniture, TV, stereo etc. around I was so miserable. My GP's a quack and I have to see a neuro about my back in 11 days. I am definitely going to DEMAND he do something! I just hope I can last 11 more days of this shit. I tried everything. Even resorted to my Buddhist background and tried to ignore the pain/suffering but that didn't even help. I know some have it worse (especially chronic), believe me, you are in my prayers. We MUST get the word out to the media about these. This is too much pain physically and mentally for anyone to endure. I try to accept the fact I suffer from these, but damn, at times (especially at their peak), I can't help but wonder "why me?" Anyone else feel this way? Please feel free to write me. You can respond, or email me at home: svladoiu@sbcglobal.net I could really use someone to talk to. Thank you all so much! :'( |

Yeah....most everyone gets to visit the sh%$ hole you're in right now. :'( It sucks beyond big time. Hang in there, it does end. Have you tried the oxygen route yet or is that one of the frustrations with the doc you're talking about? Hang in there.

You posted that you tried O2 once and it didn't work. How did you use it?
Give it a whack the new and improved way. Ya might be pleasantly surprised. Potter |

We've all been RIGHT where you are now... And we do UNDERSTAND your frustration. What Potter said about O2.... over the past year or so there have been so many improvements. I've been on O2 for years with "some" success, but the past year has been a MAJOR break-thru with the demand valve. If one can fall in love with an O2 tank - then I'm totally in LOVE. (and I'm one the Chronics).
If you need someone to talk to PM me your phone number and I'll call you and we can talk. Or if you have Skype we can "show and tell" (I've really got where I love Skype). But if you need a shoulder - mine is always available. YOU ARE NOT ALONE... Hugs BD :-* |

Hi Ocnprl,
I though I reconized you dancing around that big piece of brimstone. [smiley=evil.gif] My current cycle has been off the wall this time, all I can do is what has worked in the past (well most of the time) and hang on for the rest of it. I have an appointment with my neurologist in 2 weeks and I'm hoping for a miracle but I know it will probably be another round of new meds again. Last night they started at 6 pm would go 45 min to an hour then stop for 30 min and start all over again. They were all kip 8 plus and the final one at 9 am in the morning was a kip 9 / 10. I used O2, Ice, Heat, Red bull, and even pulled out the Imitrex but nothing did more than minor dulling of the pain, I spent most of the time screaming in the shower and into pillows begging god for mercy. I'm not trying to say look at what my head is doing, I just wanted you to know we empathize with you and know exactly where you are. I will add you to my prayers, god willing you will get a blissful couple minutes of sleep ;D If you see me online shoot me an e-mail and I'll send my number if you need someone to talk with. During attack cycles I am usually up at the wee hours of the morning, or anytime during the day I own my business so one of the perks is breaks whenever I want them ;). One last thing and I know you are getting sick of hearing it BUTTTTT I think you should try the O2 at the higher doses before giving up on it. O2 is the only thing that aborts them for me. And you do not need a docs slip to try it...... This is what I did: Do you have a welding setup or a friend with one? You can even go rent a tank of O2 from a welding supply house or a tool rental yard for that matter it will set you back 20 to 30 green backs. Then get a 1/2 id vinyl hose and tape it to the end of the biggest welding tip you have then make sure only the O2 is on; crank it up to 100 plus psi. Open the torch regulator until you have enough O2 flowing to keep up with you hyperventilating, then hold your nose and suck away. If you have an old face mask connect the vinyl hose to that, it doesnt need to be perfect this is to see if high flow rates will work. This worked wonders until I got my medical setup, I will still use the ol girl for BAD attacks because the flow is so much higher. Look at it this way .......... What do you have to lose ::)............ Keep up the fight, ~James |
