Title: PF report
Post by maryo on May 11th, 2009 at 6:43pm
I'm a 29 year CH sufferer, female. I'll skip the long story about lack of diagnosis for 20 of those 29 years.) Instead of writing for advice or searching the forum for new ideas, for once I'm able to report a long PF period -- over one year. It came about, oddly enough, as a result of the clusters skyrocketing in intensity and frequency (winter of 2007/08). For the first time I went on a prophylactic, verapamil. I'm actually off it for the "off season" (nice to have a vacation from those famous side effects). It took about 10 months of no clusters for me to work up the courage to return the O2 equipment. I still keep imitrex and other PRNs with me. I hope this message gives at least one person a little more hope . . .

Excellent news! (Except the part about returning the 02! As big a pain in the butt as it can be to obtain, I now keep 8 E-Tanks in my garage on or off cycle!) Glad to hear the verapamil did the trick for you....but yeah...its side effects are legendary around here! :)

Ah, hope. We live for it and I thank you sincerely for your thought.

Great news! I, too, would be nervous about returning the O2, but I hope you're never going to need it again. Just another hopeful thought to send back to you.
