Title: The missing sock.
Post by cavalier on May 17th, 2009 at 8:09pm
I know it’s well talked about in laundry circles and especially at the local mothers meetings but I have a theory!
No!
It’s not that sock’s of all materials and cultures suddenly decide to head for the coast for a new life,
“Although there does seem to be an unusual amount busking leg warmers around the streets of Brighton”.
And we do appear to have a boom in knitting accessories.
“Maybe that’s since they relaxed the law on same sock marriages”.

Here goes!!!

The appliances of science in the utility room have a hidden agenda.
Throughout history from humble beginnings from the two rock method of washing clothes to today’s technological age, they’ve enjoyed total freedom to indulge in their feasting habits of foot knitwear.
Not so bad is the tumble drier which only feasts on the straggling and the odd semi digested articles from all sorts of clothing.
The washing machine however has been stalking our woollen, cotton, high leg, low leg, nylon, plain, coloured or multi coloured socks since first worn by man.
Mans evolution has been quietly shadowed by the sock munchers and we have never suspected a thing, these hunter gatherers have had to adapt and lay ready to pounce on any unsuspecting sock adrift of the pack.

In the fifth dimension or is it the sixth? These white goods roam the streets looking for sustenance and man walks barefoot with the occasional Friday night out wearing
Shhhh.

Anyway that’s why they don’t bung up your filter and that’s why there are odd ones in the laundry basket.
We…. are not alone.
