I am THRILLED at the indigo buntings that have hung around this year. I saw this one pecking at the yard and was wondering what's up?

Then I cropped the pic and found out. :)

They are beautiful birds. We have them this year too....first time ever.

I haven't seen one of those where I am. It is a beautiful blue bird.

I only see them flash blue when it's raining. I think they look brown in the sun to me. I once saw a raspberry finch, a gold finch, and an indigo bunting on the same feeder - it was a spectacular moment.

I've never seen them nest here. You are indeed a lucky lady.
