Jimi, I don't even know where to start because I'm at a loss as to what to make! You'd have to give me an idea of something YOU like.
BTW, in case anyone is wondering, I did NOT put Linda up to starting the other thread about what I do. She is just trying to be nice. Love you Linda. |

Wow. Had no idea there were other "glassies" on the board. I am in the glass and optics business but I do fused glass as a hobby. All kinds of bowls and plates and art. It's good to know thereare others out there. I will post some pics soon.

Art glass! Fused glass! Cameo Glass.....
Robert, we need to talk! These are my weaknesses, and, since I cannot wield a glue gun without fusing my fingers together with great pain, I prefer to purchase! (Gil does NOT like me using a glue gun, in fact after doing a project, I had to sleep one night with my hand in ice water to reduce the pain......) Melly! I do so admire your work....I'd love it if you could make me a mermaid.....think about it, wouldja?? Cathi :D |

A mermaid eh? Hmmm... I'll get back to you on that one Cathi. :) BTW, you hot glue your fingers together?? That's a big OUCH. Gotta watch the stuff that heats up to melt things. Whatever you do, stay away from a soldering iron! ;D |

Melly,
In my past life(and sometimes present), I was a florist. I could fly so fast through a corsage or bouquet, sometimes, the tools were simply forgotten-they became just an extension of my hands....consequently, I'd forget about the glue gun as it did it'd thing....and, yes, I sported some really pretty blisters on my hands and fingers........ I have often thought that I'd like to do stained glass, and have even done a few projects, but, OHHH MYY! That solder HURTS!!!! Gil is constantly taking tools away from me...........he's been through too much! :DCathi Oh, and, ps.I would dearly love it if you could figure out a mermaid.....and promise here to pay for it if ya do! |

I do like a bit of glass art Mel and have a few pieces of Daum,Loetz and Elizabeth Swinburne who incidentally was my neighbour till she moved to Amsterdam.
My favourite is Galle and lalique but i can't afford them. Keep on posting your pics its refreshing to see. Colin |
