One thing about my job is that I get to see a lot of really cool rides. This one is a 1948 Pontiac Silver Streak.

its sad. i still cant get dad talked into a toyota.

my uncle has a business restoring old cars like that. mostly packards and jeeps. even though the economy is bad that kind of stuff is selling. next time i go over there i'll have to take some pics. thats the same uncle that custom built the semi trailers. he doesn't do much of the work he just finds the deals and finds buyers.

I really like the cars of the late 40's and early 50's.  Just seem so classic now.  Maybe because they're clean and shiny and not as dusty looking as the faint memory of them when they were rolling on the road as a small kid.  They were just a really old-looking car to see back then.  Real nice car to have now.

BIG aren't they? I love this stuff. When I and my friends were four or so, we used to sit on the side of the road passing judgment on the "Good cars" or the "dumb cars." I'm sure this one passed the good car test.

We had two Packards over the years. What tanks they were. It might be fun to get some pictures at the vintage car show held every labor day only a few blocks from me. Fun dodging Studes and Hudsons. 8-) I don't know why I never have taken some.
