Title: This Cycle Is Different
Post by FrankF on Jun 6th, 2009 at 9:00pm
I have been having CH cycle for 25-30 years and as far as I remember they follow a pattern for the most part. I would have 1 or maybe 2 attacks per day, usually always in the evening, and Kip 7 or above.

Now this time I am having Kip 1-2 shadows nearly all day... for example, continously 4 or 5 hours (didn't happen before), and last week I had to use O2 several times at work, and an Imitrex at work for a Kip 7-8 (that didn't happen before either). And I am having 5-6 attacks per day. WTF is up with that?

My doctor has me on verapamil 360mg/day and O2, both of which I have used before with good results. Not sure the verapamil is doing much though... have been on it almost three weeks.

The only thing I am doing different this cycle is not drinking. Can't imagine that would increase the frequency of attacks... it is supposed to do the opposite.

Hi Frank,

You know my cycle changed allot this round for no apparent reason, what I have come up with is since we change with age so do the CH's. I know that really generic but it;s the only answer that really fits, our body's are dealing with it in different ways therefore we experience the symptoms and the pain differently and in different ways. Keep you the fight here's praying for PF days and Nights.

Wow, when I am in the middle of a cycle, drinking isn't even an option!  Makes the occurance much more frequent and much more severe.  I would LOVE to have a single beer every once in a while but while I am in "it", no chance.

Maybe do a dietary intake log to see if there are triggers being ingested you wouldnt think of.  It could be environmental or just a bad cycle.

I am having the exact same problem.  Mine started in mid March and they have been vicious. It's June 9th and I'm still getting the crap kicked out of me.  Here in Florida right before spring it would be 90 one day then 35 that night it did that for quite a while and I turn 46 in July.  I'm getting 5-6 hits per day all above 7 and keeping the shadow all day.  Also getting the 2.21 A.M. hits every morning don't know if its trying to go chronic on me, which is how it started in 1983. I went 3 years straight.
