Title: Oprah.... On Myspace?
Post by B14CK5H33P on Jun 9th, 2009 at 6:31pm
Just about every star or media darling is on myspace now. What is friggin cool is... I get friend requests daily, I can barely keep up anymore. I don't go searching for friends that much anymore since thy all find me, including major label bands.

Well, I just got a friend request from the moderators of Oprah Winfrey's page. I almost didn't add her but thought, "Add her as a friend... I can leave a comment on her page."
Those of you who know about the letter campaigns over the years know it did nothing basically. So..... (you know where I'm going with this don't you?)  I added Ms O and left this comment on her page:

"Thanks for the add. I can only hope one day Oprah will do a show about Cluster Headaches - a.k.a. Suicide Headaches, since this is a very rare disorder, misunderstood and those who suffer from them chronically have their lives torn apart.
Oprah has done great shows for great causes. If she did a show on Clusters and their sufferers, SHE could be the one to make a difference in how this disorder and its victims are treated.
These aren't called suicide headaches for no reason. There have been members of START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE who have committed suicide, and recently in the UK it was in the paper that a 34 year old man hung himself because he could not deal with the pain of Clusters.

Women who suffer with cluster headaches say they would rather give birth 7 times a day than to have to deal with the torturous pain Clusters bring. They bring the strongest men to their knees, and for some sufferers it is a fight day to day just to survive.
If the Oprah show would be interested in this topic, look up "Cluster Headaches" on Youtube and you will find that this is indeed something that even alot of the MEDICAL community lacks knowledge of how to treat this rare condition."

Maybe THAT will get someone's attention at HARPO! One can only hope.  :-/

Thanks Jimi and Iddy.

If you're on myspace, I encourage you to add her as a friend and as soon as she adds you, then leave a similar comment. Maybe enough comments on her page regarding CH would do it.
Stranger things have happened (like Adam Lambert - LMAO).

Carl, that was a very good letter.    Thanks for posting that to "her higness"    ::)

I'm a pessimist at heart but it sure can't hurt trying.

Carl,

thanks for doing that - and the tip. I just added Oprah as my friend on Myspace. Who knows what will happen if plenty of clusterheads keep on writing to her.... she and the show will get the ideas from somewhere.
