Title: Not our Cruise ship - Batch's
Post by QnHeartMM on Jun 19th, 2009 at 9:17am
We just enjoyed a nice 4 day cruise to nowhere in particular. Actually it went to Catalina and Ensenada. We learned about a new drink called Buffalo Milk. Ingredients: Vodka, coffee liqueur, banana liqueur, and creme de cacao. Its blended (frozen) topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. Yummm...

While we were on our ship, we were docked next to Batch's ship. Batch if you're ever in San Diego we'd love to tour it with you!

Christy,

When you are in St. Louis next month tell them you want to host the convention in SD next year, then we can all tour it with him.  I'd love to go aboard too.

Also, San Diego is a beautiful city, and I'd like an excuse to go back out there.  Won't have any more Marines graduating from there unless I wait for a grandson.  ;D

Jerry

Would be fun sometime to do it in San Diego for sure Jerry. However, 2010 would not be good for us to give the committment to hosting OUCH as we'll be hosting a wedding instead!  But I will go on record as having said I'll consider in subsequent years. Actually Joe and I talked on the cruise about what fun it would be to do it on a cruise ship - especially as cheap as they are these days! I don't think you can pay for a hotel and food as cheap as these 3-4 day cruises are!

Earlier in the decade I was in San Diego for an event which included renting out the Midway for an evening.  The main-deck and flight-deck were outfitted with bars, buffets & bands.

Interesting ship, even though outside of those two decks 98% of the boat is off limits.  I love warship tours, but tend to hate the fact all the interesting bits (IE engineering) are off limits.
