Was in remission for 3 years , I thought from taking verapomil daily but am now going through a bad cycle again. Into the 6th week and feeling down because they are not letting up and have taken loads of abortives.

hey vic-
we all feel your pain. i am new here too, and this is a good place to get info. and be around other people who understand your pain/dilemma. read as much info on this site as you can, it might help you through the tough times as it did, and continues to do, for me. the veterans around here would probably want to know what kinds of meds/ abortives you are on now, and what has worked for you previously. ever tried the o2? anyway....hope this place helps you like it has helped me. mike |

Hi Vic,
Welcome to the family! Sorry to hear you're getting walloped. Loads of PF vibes are heading your way. Can you tell us a bit about your current strategy? Abortives? Verapamil dosage? It might be that we can help you fine tune things and get some relief. Good luck... -Dennis- |

Hi Vic,
Welcome to your new home. You have found a haven where you are understood, can vent when needed, can get advice, (free, and worth every penny of it! ;D), will be encouraged (with a swift kick if needed, or a hug when appropriate), plus a lot of free entertainment, political fighting, friendship, and if you are single, possibly matchmaking. ( It has happened for three others :)) I strongly suggest you look closely at the "oxygen info" button on the left side of the page. Many here have found it to be a lifesaver. While it is not my method of choice at the present time it is probably the most widely effective legal remedy available. Plus it is relatively inexpensive and has not side effects to worry about. As a stopgap measure I would recommend an energy drink slammed as fast as you can drink it at the first sign of an attack. Strong Black coffee can be helpful also, but does not work so quickly as an energy drink with Taurene. The Taurene seems to supercharge the caffeine somehow. I can often abort or knock way back a hit in 5-10 minutes with one. When you have a chance tell us a little more about yourself, when you were diagnosed, what preventatives you have used and how successfully, what abortives you have used and how successfully, etc. Welcome to the family.
