Title: Computer trouble
Post by Charlie on Jun 30th, 2009 at 10:25am
My computer is pretty much unusable. I'll probably be off line for awhile. I can still check in here it seems but it takes way too long and I can do little else. Maybe I can get some geek help for now. I dunno.

Rats.

Jeeze Charlie.  Didn't you just go through this a month or so ago and spend an ungodly amt. of money getting it fixed.  Not to mention time with no computer?    >:(

Hon, I am so sorry.   :-*

Charlie are you coming to St. Louis? If you can bring it I'm sure there are several of us that can tune it up for ya. Hopefully it's a laptop... and easy to bring.

Sadly, I'm not coming to St. Louis. When asked last year, I was broke. Next year looks better. As far as my system; it's closer to this:

I'm told that something nasty is eating me alive here so I'll have to disconnect for awhile. Rats.

Thanks though.

This about the only place I can get to. Strange. Anyway, I'm taking this POS in to be cleaned up. I need something new eventually. I hate what I have.

See you in a few days, I hope.

Hmmm:

Things are working again for no reason that I know. My guess is my conversation with the server had some effect. No doubt they don't want to admit that it was something they did or didn't. No matter as I'm going to get DSL or something by next week. For now I'm just glad that I can look at crap to bid on at ebay. :o

Thanks for the help though and I'll look at your suggestions. I'm mostly in the dark about this stuff.

Charlie

your on dial up then. i remember those days. out were i live at my only alternative was hughesnet. $500 for the receiver and another $69 a month for the service. eventually the cable people ironed out their differences with the phone people who own the poles so i finally got dsl.
i hated dial up.

anyways i would look into those programs. after you get dsl that is. the downloads would take days. phew!
