Title: My 25 lpm Regulator Bit It
Post by Carl D on Jul 15th, 2009 at 11:09am
Yesterday I started to get hit and sat down in the recliner and turned on the o2 handle. Dead. Okay, change tanks, no prob. Dead.
WTF? Empty tank maybe? Hooked a 2nd one up. Nothing.

By this time I started building strong enough I said to hell with it and threw the mask back on the M tank with the 15lpm. Took 25 minutes to abort.  :-[

I don't get it. It was working, then just stopped. Is it possibly clogged, or is there any way to fix them? Would rather not go back to 15 lpm with the opti-mask as it takes way too long for the bag to fill for me to suck it down.

Anybody know?

Fritzed,
Carl D

You're not supposed to use it for pressurized application of chunky peanut butter. ;D

Seriously, I haven't a clue, Carl.

That sucks!

Where was it made!

Probably by a company that is owned by GM. ;D

Sorry to hear Carl

I use my Bass-O-Matic for peanut butter pressurizing.  :)

I think I know what happened. Those who know, know that the real cause of CH is Micro-miniatuire Cuban-born Chinese Circus midgets crawling in the ear or nose, and lodging in the head.

Anyways, since the o2 was doing so good blowing them out at such a high flow rate, they got pissed and decided to retaliate. I found a note near the o2 tanks that read simply,
"Since you have taken great measures to keep our army at bay from your head, I sent in 172 suicide-bummers to crawl inside the tubing, in through the gasket, and they all pulled the cords on their charges and blew up inside my regulator, thus destroying it. We win again, Mr Danger.  Signed, Liza Microminiminelli."

I KNEW it! I fricken KNEW it. Someday.... :D

Just when I was freaking on how long it takes for a 15 LPM reg to fill up a 3 litre bag before I can suck down a breath...

I just had a visitor a bit ago. Seems a local Clusterhead (I won't say who, just that she is from the midwest like me, and her name is Beth)
just happened to have a 25 LPM Regulator she never used, as she prefers welders o2, and is PF at the moment (hopefully continually) and said it was mine if I wanted it.
She is such a sweetheart that, since she works here in town (small world eh?) she said no need to wait until convention next week to get it to me and so brought it by today.

So, all I can say is a million thanks Beth. See ya again in a week, and the first couple of drinks are on me.  :-*

Peace & Hugz,
Carl D

I really hope you don't have to use it Carl, but I'm glad you have it so there will be no needless suffering.

Take care and see ya next week!

Beth

Hey Carl,
Bring that old one to STL if you can, maybe we can figure it out. I had to have one "rebuilt" some years ago. Rubber seal went bad.

Bless you Beth. See you all next week.

Don

Well the bad news is, I had to use it. The good news is, I didn't have to wait for the bag to fill up to take another breath so it aborted quickly.

Don, I'll bring the old one next week. I took a look at it myself last night, as I had tinkered with my 1st regulator that was an 8-12 lpm and had gone bad from the seals.

Once again, if I can't pay it back I'll pay it forward.  ;)

Thanks again Beth.
Carl
