Title: That's the last time I let THAT happen Post by Bob Greenwood on Jul 16th, 2009 at 5:32am
My wife told me 2 days ago to call for a new tank. I said "na, I have plenty" ......YA RIGHT! :D
I ran out of O2 in the middle of a doosie at 3 o'clock this morning. So I had to deal with it the old way, take a treximet, rock back and forth, swear, wanting to run head first into a brick wall. Next time I'M GONNA LISTEN TO MY WIFE ::) |

We all need to relearn this lesson every once in a while.
I never go into a weekend without 3 e-tanks and at least half an m-tank. Oh, you thought I was talking about listening to my wife? That's one I never quite learn. It gives her endless opportunities to say "I told you so" ;D -Dennis- |

Once you've cracked open your last tank, you call for refills. This is your new mantra.
I've taken that to the nth degree. I use M tanks at home (one in the living room, a full one in the closet), E tanks at the office (one under the desk, 5 or 6 full ones in the closet), and D tanks in the car (one on the floor, 5 or 6 full ones in the closet). Each of the active ones has a regulator and a mask, ready to go. I am fortunate in that my insurance company covers 100% of the cost of durable medical equipment - all I have to do is call Apria. Your wife is a wise woman. Do well to listen to her you will. ;) |

My insurance only covers one M tank at a time as far as I know. I'll have to check into it.

If they give you any guff, tell them in no uncertain terms that you CANNOT run out, therefore you must have a backup to which you can switch.

I'll do that. Thanks for the tip.
I don't EVER want to run out again, it sucks. |

In the spirit of gross overkill, I keep two 9,600 liter "T" tanks in my garage and use them to fill my small tanks. Haven't gotten even remotely close to running low since I went this way.
Each T tank gives me over 4.5 hours of breathing time, and I only need O2 for 4-6 minutes for each hit. That's 45+ CH's per tank at my 35 lpm average flow rate. It costs me $19. to refill each Mother Ship with welding O2, so I do it when one gets near 20% and the other still with 1200 psi. The wasted $3.80 is cheap insurance. I'm really not a total nut job (Brew will challenge that), I just want to have a supply in case I can't get any for awhile for any reason. It's super effective for me at very high flow rates and it's dirt cheap. Makes no sense for ME not to do it this way. Marc |

Nah. You're just one of the few I can mess with who'll mess with me right back. |

OK, I just got a new tank delivered and the driver told me NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS , call them and they will have someone on call to bring a full tank. He said they should of told me that before, and couldn't understand why they didn't.
Personally I think it's because they don't understand how much we ABSOLUTELY need it, but I could be wrong. |
