Title: throwing a question at you guys/girls Post by McGee on Jul 17th, 2009 at 2:39am
so it goes like this. i had a hear test at work and according to the results i have 85 loss in my right ear and 45 loss in my left ear from a value of 115. Not being a Dr i dont really know what the results show but i get a letter in 3 weeks with the detailed results.
so my question is can CH have an effect on my ears? im a righty and the highest value is on my right and was wondering if this had anything to do with Ch or is it because im going deaf (allways had selective deafness with the wife ;)) thanks in advance and please speak up as i cant lip read yet :D mark (van gough) |

I've never had CH affect my hearing. As for as I know, it doesn't really have an effect on hearing.

I was told that yes, it could cause my vision in my cluster side to get worse. (As mine did.)
It's a neurological condition, it wouldn't suprise me if it could do the same to hearing. |

I can't say CH did it, but when I was on verap and Lithium I started getting tinnitus really badly. I've been off for several years now, and it's still there. You might check your meds for side effects.

the only meds im using are O2, O2 and of course my all time favourite O2. I was using triptan at the start of my last cycle but donīt touch them now (only in extreme emergency).
ive not noticed any hearing loss (other than when the wife tells me about her day) its just that the test in work got me thinking maybe there is a connection. ive allso noticed that ive got an extremelly spotty arse but i dont think thats got anything to do with CH ;) ;) Mark (thanks for your help, has anyone got any bum cream :D) |

I have had tinnitus for a while, and it is not a side effect of any med.
Like Pixie-elf said, it could be neurological and related to CH. Horton's syndrome (drooping eyelid) is one example of this general type of damage to nerves caused by inflammation. Maybe could happen to the transmission of sound impulses, not sure. My tinnitus seems to be from issues related to clenching the jaw or grinding my teeth. |

My vision gets worst during an attack (I figured tearing was doing it) but lately it hasn't gone away after.

I used to work at a factory (very loud) where a yearly hearing test was mandatory along with the use of ear plugs, of course. On the days we were to take the hearing test, we were supposed to avoid loud music, obviously, and anything else that may affect our hearing, even riding with the window down in a car.
So, out of curiosity, did you have an attack near the time when you took the test? If so, are you one of the "head banger" types during a bad attack? |

hi overtone,
i have been shadowing alot in the last weeks/months so i wasnt sure if there was any connection. im not a head banger as such but i rock back and forth like my granny on speed. i got the results back 2 days ago and apparently theres nothing for concern :-/ Mark (needs a holiday (again)) |
