Title: A Unique Opportunity Post by Carl D on Jul 17th, 2009 at 11:31pm
I recently posted a song I wrote and recorded about CH called "I Wake Up Screaming" and have on my "Dead Cowboy Rebellion" page on myspace. Also I play it on my show, if requested.
I got an odd request from an avid listener who is also a musician. He loves the song, and asked if there was any possible way I could strip it down and do an acoustic version of it. I told him I doubted it very heavily, as it is a pretty deep and heavy song, and needs those slow, crunching guitars. Then he explained that he is in collaboration to put together a various artists compilation CD with proceeds to go to breast cancer research. When he said that, I thought for a minute and said, "As long as I can layer it. I don't just think one acoustic and voice can portray the emotion of the song." He agreed, and told me to overdub as much as necessary, but go for that 'unplugged' feeling. So, the song I wrote for and about clusters is going onto a CD for breast cancer research. Just feels like one good cause lending to another. I am going to see how well I could play and sing it with just one voice and guitar. Who knows? If I can pull it off and do it right... Back to the music, Carl D [smiley=jammin.gif] |

Hey Carl....how cool is that! From the talents of one "individual" you have managed to thread together a fabric that cloaks the world in a way that makes it a better place . The possitive influence of your music will survive in the hearts and minds of so many.
Wishing you all the best. You rock! :) |
