Having such a slow chance to say hello as each person came in was great.

At first it was Beull. Then we got here. got a chance to really talk about what was coming.

Then the Brits landed and jasper is so unigue. He told me my accent was Indian english. LOL...(cowboy english since I don't have an accent) Can't wait to see what he'll say to Jimi when he gets here. LMAO!!!

Well, I went to my concert tonight: Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium & more bands. I learned one thing: I am getting too old for all day music festivals.

So, I am not far from the airport right now, but will be getting up to the hotel around 6ish tomorrow evening, armed with camera. 8-)

Not sure if I am staying the night. Dawn & Katie are away on a girl-cation, thus I need to see if I can get someone to check in on my dog.

I have a gut feeling someone will force-feed me enough vodka to make driving home a non-option. Then I will have to figure out who's floor I get to sleep on.

Well the Internet is slow as hell so it takes awhile to upload. But while I work on a few pictures, here's a slideshow of our trip into town today. The mosaics at the Basilica were just breathtaking. How is the cooling in the hotel gathering areas in the evening? Cold enough for jeans, or will shorts do the trick?

Is there a bar in the hotel? Or are you hanging in some common area?

What a chick..worried about what to wear....in all seriousness, it was fine last night in the lobby area for shorts. We hung in the bar...the bar that charges $4.02 for a bottle of Miller Lite and $9.00 for a cocktail. May I suggest you hit a liquor store on the way and bring a cooler! lol :)

Hey everyone!!

I sure hate that we are not there. Looks like a good time. I'm sure it will only get better. I did wonder about Chuck's nose, but did the bottom of the pool also grab his hair? Just kidding Chuck, I like the new dew.

Hope no one has cracked a tooth on the cookies. It was an experiment. Just put them in the microwave for a few seconds and they will refresh. Maybe.

Ok so now for the news of convention drama! A few of us were gathered for dinner, just waiting for DJ, Steph and Brandon. DJ called - Steph was stuck in the elevator. The elevators have been working great all weekend until these 4 big groups checked into the hotel. Now we're having chronic issues. Steph was stuck up between floors 5&6 for about 45 minutes. See her WAAAAAY up there?

Ben and I finally made it home.... I would say this convention was extremely successful as one could almost see the cloud of apathy lifting off the collective.

I can't find the right words to describe how nice it was to see you all again and to meet those who I've never met before.

Ben enjoyed you all as well. It does the soul good to be near warm caring people.

...and although my old sig may seem to some "a bit annoying"

I hear that...

Max hasn't really stopped "crying" for my attention since I've gotten home, and he's on my lap constantly.

More like "I'm SOO glad you are home, and don't ever go away like that again" instead of "I'm pissed at you".

But yes...cats have a way of letting us know they aren't pleased when we leave home for a little while.

I really like the excellent choices made for the awards. VERY fitting.

Big congratulations for Ruthie's endless spirit. I wouldn't hesitate to say Chuck's the guy for that one. Jimi for the Kipple award, no finer guy. Bill's always shown the continued commitment. Jim has appeared a needed ingredient and fresh inspiration. I haven't said it yet but welcome.
