Title: What does the end feel like? (I forgot!)
Post by Joeytastic on Jul 31st, 2009 at 7:01pm
Sorry I have been posting a lot, I don't mean to be a pest it's just very dark times for me (attacks 6 times a day, feeling quite sick from drugs...) and this is my only life line at the moment.

It's been years since my last cycle and I sorta forget what it's like when it's coming to an end. Are there any clues? I seem to remember that they didn't exactly taper out but just suddenly stopped one day after a few months of absolute hell.

Do you get any end of cycle clues? My KIP has decreased a bit but that is perhaps me getting on the abort quicker (trex and o2) and my background headache seems to have gone over the last few days. However the frequency is still there.

I daren't allow myself to believe this is the beggining of the end... This is about week 7 for me.

If you are a cycle CH, how does the end normally present it's self?

Jo x

Ever considered using hallucinogens for busting cycle? How effective is O2 for you? Doing good for you? Tried Verapamil with Lithium at big doses? Screw normal GPs go for pain clinic, don't let yourself to suffer anymore, we do not deserve to suffer that much, we are strong, but we should suffer the least the possible.

HI Joe,

I think someone mentioned before that forgetting about cycles is the body's way of dealing with bouts of extreme pain. Who wants to remember, It's good we forget.. :)

If my memory serves me correct mine also abruptly stopped. This time the little shit carried on for weeks as heavy shadows. I finally had to take another small dose of prediselone to Finnish him off.

I'm a mum so I can't go dabbling in risky illegal drugs. Too much responsibility. And although I don't judge those who choose to do it, ethically it doesn't sit too well with with me. I prefer my drugs to be clincally tested ...my body is a temple and all that. I am really boring, I don't drink, smoke and avoid saturated fat hehe...

And also... I am a wimp. I'd prolly hallicinate something dreadful that would leave me emotionally scarred for the rest of my life, knowing my luck.

I have every faith that the misery will come to end soon enough. It's just a matter of grinding my teeth in the meantime :)

Tampering prediselone really angered my beast. Never touching those evil red pills again  :o

Jo,

I think the beast can morph a little each cycle. You alone know your own body and I believe deep down you will know when your cycle is near its end. I'm an episoder and usually between the 7 to 10 weeks sees me out the other side. I apologise, I know that's no help what so ever.

Hope it's sooner rather than later... ;)

I do too for the sake of holding down my job  :-/ Been off sick for weeks now.

Oh it was morphed. It's cruel. It was just twilight attacks (I was at work and ust about had it under control) and then the course of evil red pills angered it and made it night and day... then the KIP got so bad I ended up in hosiptal. This is my third cycle. It's never been this bad. Even the O2 doesn't help any more. I know I sound like a whining old cow but I am just so bloody depressed and fed up with this.

If it never ends and this becomes my life, I really think I may throw myself off a building. I just have no quality of life. I am terrified to leave the house. My doctors are rubbish and don't understand the condition or don't belive me becuase I don't fit the demographic. I am tired but I can't sleep. The drugs makes me sick. The pain makes me a total bitch... including being unreasonably snappy to my 5 year old little girl... so I feel guilty....

Sigh... oh I'm sorry  :'(

For everyone, I'm sure, the end is just as individual as ch.

For me, a signal to the end is a ramping UP of the hits, more frequent, harder hits. But I know that it'll only be a couple weeks like that, and then the hits are fewer and farther between.

When I've gone at least a week with no hits, then I consider it over.  Get yourself some o2, hit it at the first sign of an attack. Don't wait, just do it.

And when the blessed RELIEF of end of cycle comes, stick around. I'm sure there will be someone who'll need a hand to hold while they ask:
"What does the end feel like"?

Hey Joe,

One of the great aspects of this site is that we can rant and rave to people who totally understand what you are enduring. Your ordinary GP really hasn't a clue about CH's. In order to secure the proper treatment you must get a neurologist who specialises in headaches.

It sucks that the 02 and steroids are not helping you at all. In the interests of education do go over to the clusterbusters site and research a little of what they have to offer. I know you previously stated your stance, but hey, if there is something out there that can help to eliminate the pain and get your life back, then its surely worth reading up on a little more.

Hang in there girl..
