Title: Some little gremlin did it again...
Post by Redd on Aug 10th, 2009 at 6:52pm
...out to get me....

After the coffee pot incident yesterday morning, I thought my "replacement of appliances" was over...

Ahhhh

Little did I know that tonight as I'm readying the grill to make some brats, the hinges on the grill's lid would break.

One side has both bolts broken off and the other side is hanging by a single bolt.

Now I need to replace a gas grill as I had just purchased a refill tank for this POS.

It's only 2 years old damn it!!!!!!

Maybe some good end of the season specials this time of year?   Floor models so I don't have to try to assemble?

Arrrrrghhhhhhhhh   Just another damn thing I don't need...

[smiley=wave.gif]  Hi

I had the same prob 2 years ago after I moved into an upstairs condo - think we lost the bolts tho - just took the remaining bolt to the hardware store and bought some new ones.   ;D
Unless you want an excuse to go buy a new grill.?   8-)  Summer bbq anyone?  Shiny new grill?  It's almost 90 degrees outside here - a Beautiful day.  Tried to play hookie from work, even scheduled two appointments mid-day Just to get outside!  hehe

Some people get all the bad appliance luck all at once geez...

good luck - I'd put my toaster away if I were you.   :D

Val

Bigger bolts and washers are cheaper than a new grill

As are the tools to do the job me thinks.

Probably time to invest in some of those huh?

Borrow a wrench that fits the new bigger bolts (don't forget the nuts) and you're good to go.

Two adjustable crescent wrenches ought to do the trick. Insert the bolt, turn the nut on with your fingers until you can't turn it anymore, then hold the head of the bolt with one wrench while you turn the nut with the other. Tighten it as tight as you can comfortably.

When's dinner?

Make sure you don't buy a metric crescent wrench unless your bbq was made in Europe or Japan.   :D

The Gremlin is still at it...

So maybe you guys recall last fall I had to get the wind shield on the Aztek replaced.

Well yesterday as I'm driving along, I hit about 40 MPH and I hear this gawd awful noise on the roof.  Flapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflap.

Stop her on the side of the highway..get out only to find that the rubber molding has come loose and is flying all over the damn place.

So after my errands, I head to the place that installed the new glass and no one was there to look at it, but got the first appointment this morning. 8 Sharp.

Get there, and luckily it is under full warranty, so they take her back to fix it.

After sitting there for 2 hours with NO DAMN COFFEE, they guys come back and say they don't like the way the stock molding if fitting with the after  market glass, so I need to come back Monday...they are going to replace the molding with after market molding.  They are also ordering another wind shield,  just in case this one breaks during the job.

Still no cost to me....but DAMN IT can't SOMETHING Start going good for a change?

Guess sending him home without having sex on the first date didn't appeal to him.  Haven't heard a word from him since.
