Title: Return?
Post by rubberplant on Aug 17th, 2009 at 6:49am
Hi All,

It's been nearly 2 years since my last confession!

I'm a bit confused. I suffered on Saturday morning completely out of the blue. But have had nothing since. I just have the shadows and my head feels burnt or grazed still but nothing.

My previous bouts over the last 8 or so years were between 6 and 8 weeks long about 8 attacks a day. Now this.

Has anyone else suffered a single attack in an episode? If not then I think I may need to see the neuro again.

James

Yikes.....you must feel like a time bomb.

I had shadows for two weeks before the big one hit. In which case I sure wish I had taken some prevents then, instead of waiting.....but you never know when to do what with this beast. I think I would get armed just in case....Never heard of one attack, but you never know.   Good luck       lorac

Thanks Lorac,

The problem is I feel like a fraud going to the Doc when I have had one. Although the shadows are there and giving gentle spikes once in a while. I have a few injections left from last time. SO, if it hits I can survive a couple of days.

I ws just wondering if anyone had [i]ever[i] had just one. I guess I know the answer just didn't want to believe it.

I have been episodic for 15 + years and this year it started with a kip 5 at most and has been shaddows (kip 3-4) for 2 months now. I have been contacted by people who have had similar episodes. If something seems out of the normal pain wise - neurologicaly it never hurts to visit the doc. No one should ever feel like a fraud for experiencing the beast.I wish I would have gone to the doc with the first signs of my cycle and started the prevents etc.. Hope it is one and done for you. Painfree vibes.  Jay

Yes, my last "cycle" lasted 3 attacks. By the time I got my favorite abortive in hand it was over.

You might make an appt, assuming that several weeks will pass before the date, then cancel at the last minute if no subsequent attacks while waiting.
