The other side of the coin on this is....
These things cost money, specially the tattoos, the piercings are relatively cheap but the jewelry itself gets costly. They all have to bringing in some sort of bucks to pay for it all.... The question is, what do they do....and how can I get in on that kind of money making operation...because I'm sure they have rent and other bills to pay on top of their...ummmm body beautification expenses... I need to find out what they DO to afford all that and still pay bills.... |

Chuck,
Who wants to examine a nose interior while talking to someone. Far more subtly, we do have a policy against guys wearing two earrings. My best worker for absolute model customer service wears two earrings, not large. I've never even noticed he wears one after a whole year, looking right past it to his performance and abilities, and have been called over by customers who want to compliment him to me more than anyone else. But a new gung-ho manager trainee did a disciplinary write-up on him, bringing it to my attention, stupid as I might sound, it was news to me. My employee just came to me about it for explaining, rationale, etc, on the matter. All I've said so far is there is such a policy and all management said, informally, was, only women can wear two and left it at that. This guy gets more phone numbers from women than I've ever seen as well as tips from them, and his guy crew is decent. He's an excellent worker, one of my best, never a complaint, and sales are great when he's scheduled. I have to begin some conversations with him with an eventual convincing outcome without diminishing his morale for the workplace, he'll be still the same person without one, but need to wing it without understanding about it. He knows it's not coming from me and doesn't even like working if I'm not there, but I need to make sure it doesn't keep arising if it is an unpleasant subject. |

Chuck,
You need to quit cruising bmezine.com ;D. The good thing is, you didn't show some of the more bizarre piercings and tattooing (not appropriate for here) :-X Carolyn |

i used to know a guy who had several piercings and a bone through his nose. he had a very high i.q. he used to carry along with him all kinds of tool catalogs, a machinist manual, welding manuals, and a few math formula books. he was an extremely talented welder, machinist, and carpenter. he and and i were very good friends. he and his wife got into cocaine real bad and it destroyed him. after knowing eric i don't judge people based on their appearance.
edited to add: eric was also one of the few people i could go out of town with and not strange. if you think a couple hours in the car is bad with someone you cant stand imagine spending a couple weeks with them. the only time i've ever been to nyc was with eric. we got along pretty good. |

I think that #16 worked at Seattle Ship Supply for awhile. The rest of those guys could be anyone from around Second Ave or Pike Street. On my boat everyone has more tattoos than me. I've never had the time to get many of them.
