She had some man's babies, so I gave up on her and moved on in life.   ;D  Now I've got Ed.  ;)  hmmm... the things to ponder in life

With a deep breath, here goes:

It is something I never felt the need to discuss in this forum. I have been 'out' for 9 years to friends and family. I lost a few friends, but made news ones, but found something much more important: my indentity.
Tried to convince myself I was 'str8' though knew since I was a child I was different for some reason, and at an early age showed signs of affection towards same sex. I learned that was 'wrong, ungodly and disgusting' and was raised in a prejudice household, in a rough town. Had I come out 24 years ago - the beatings, vandalism and other shit I would've endured... fuck that.
I was even engaged twice to a woman, but never could go through with it. Finally I came to a point in my life when I was 30 where I either just accepted who I am and lived with it, or hid it for life for fear of 'what others might think' and in the past few years, have learned that people will think what they want. As soon as you are labeled 'gay' then you are stereotyped and a sissy and all kinds of shit that is not necessarily true.

As for the past few years, I had quit even dating or anything since my life has been way too complicated for my likings. Last year I made up my mind to just stay single for life, move on and not make my problems someone else's. And now, approaching 40 - and going through mid life crisis at its peak, I had a fallin out with family because of what my brother held back for 9 years - his disdain for me; just on more reason ALOT (MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE) of men ARE GAY, and no one knows, except their lovers who don't tell secrets. You'd be surprised who you might know who is, and doesn't say anything.

In fact, I've been here or over 10 years now, and only a few people knew. In my book, they were the only ones that it mattered to. Now, I just don't care. What two consenting adults do behind closed doors is "THEIR BUSINESS"  and no one elses. Although I draw a line at times; though I am gay, I don't wave a banner. I did for awhile there because it was liberating to finally be me, and it lifted a huge weight off of me. However, I do not let my sexuality define my character. I don't discuss it on Myspace or Facebook, and never have on here until now. This just seemed like a good thread to do it in. (Thanks Tony.)

So yes, it is true: my favorite color is blue, I listen to a very broad spectrum of music, and I love provel on my pizza! So if I am going to be hated for anything, I'd prefer it be one of those things. It would make as much sense as hating me for something that affects no one else but me.

And lastly, shortly after I decided to remain single the rest of my life as I had grown content being alone, I got a birthday present 8 days after mine, and 7 days after his. I met someone, fell in love and they fell in love with me - and with how complicated my life is - accepts me for who I am. Someone who has been there for me through ALOT of shit, but also brought a vitality to my life that was missing. We think alike, and are the closest thing to a soulmate anyone culd wish for. He old me he's sorry he ruined my 'single' plans, but I am stuck with him for life. I just sang to him some Huey Lewis - "Yes it's true. I am happy to be stuck with you." And it isn't just about sex. We have feelings and emotions too, we joke, we cry, and we lift each other up and care for one another in many ways.

So, sorry for anyone who felt 'deceived' that I didn't make this news available sooner but, nobody asked either and those who did got an honest answer. I like UFC, beer, wicked classic cars and Cardinals Baseball, ran with a tough crowd back in the day, and am handy at fixing things, even change brake lines and such. I've been 'gaybashed' and then showed the scumbag a different form of gaybashing by snapping his arm in two. It was self defense. He almost broke my jaw first, came at me again and I broke his arm. It was in a st8 redneck bar, told 2 friends the 2nd day I was out, and one jacked me in the face screaming all kinds of stuff I won't repeat. Came at me again still raging, and I did a 'block and drop' and snapped his arm. Cops asked questions, came back and asked if I wanted to press charges. I asked what would happen if I did and he said, "We have enough eyewitness accounts this will contsitute as a hate crime." I askd what that meant. "He'll a minimum of 2 years."
I couldn't press charges. Instead I let it go. Wasn't worth sending him to prison and ruining his family. Like our other friend said who was there, "His closet is just bigger than yours and he felt threatened that you might bring him out."

If I shocked anyone with this post - well, cool. Far out! Great to know shock value still is worth something. Like I have alot of friends on here anyway. Doesn't matter; I'll take quality over quantity any day. Better to have few good friends than dozens who will stab you in the back in a heartbeat.

With that being said, I'm 'out'  [smiley=vrolijk_1.gif]
Peace,
Carl,

Carl man, I am sorry if my post seemed like I cared either way.  I just couldn't tell if you were coming out or just messing with us.

My only real problem with gay people stems from an incident where a gay guy at a TGI's threw a drink on me.  He was drinking 0 proof gin and it has scarred me for a long time.  However, meeting you and Tony might help me get over this.

With this said..... I can't help but be thankful for this place for a ton of reasons.  Some I don't think I can explain in words and some I tell to anyone stupid enough to listen.

Just a few questions come to mind for Tony and Carl.

1) Tony, Carl, If you guys were on baseball teams and the only positions available were pitcher and catcher, what positions would you guys play?

2) Say you two went to your perspective others (lovers, boyfriends, life partners, or the other pain in the ass you might live with) and there was only one room with bunk beds, would you guys prefer the top or bottom??

3) Spit or swallow?

Those are questions to be asked on a one to one basis, if at all, not on a public board.

That gay guy was probably justified in doing that ...

Besides, you liked it, and me, when I groped your buns, why should that change, just because I threw a drink on you?

Now one more question for the gay dudes.

Say you two were on a plane along with "survivors "very own Richard Hatch. The plane suddenly crashes in the water and the steward flight attendant screams at you to blow the hatch....what would you do??

What I can't tell is if you're serious or not. What's a 0 proof gin?
Why have anything against a group of people based on their sexuality because of some not a very nice person throwing a drink on you?
The last free weekend I had in California was spent with my daughter in San Francisco and while we people watched, she never stopped to ask why two guys seem to enjoy each others company, a lot. Life is like a box of chocolates, isn't it?

Now one more question for the gay dudes.

1.  0 proof gin is water...... but Chuck doesnt know the difference between it and real gin.

2. If I cant hate a group based on the actions of only a single member of that group, then what about 2 actions.  The same gay dude refused to hit on me until I begged him!

3.  Life is like a box of chocolates?  I know if I ate 1 bad chocolate covered ant... I wouldn't like any chocolate covered ants!

4.  That part was joking by the way.  The gay guy was Chuck and he threw it at me because some people played a joke on him and he got mad that I cracked a joke about it.

Nevermind. I found it. It's processed cheese made from cheddar, swiss, and provolone. It doesn't meet the FDA requirements to be called cheese, so it's called a Pasteurized process cheese.

It's what we in Wisconsin call "cheese food." It's what you feed to real cheese.

THERE...IS...ONLY...ONE...PERFECT...FOOD...it is called cheese...made from the fermented milk of many mammals (cow, sheep, goat, yak, water buffalo, camel, et al). The variety is nearly infinite, and comparable only to the possibilities of fermented grapes (the perfect accompaniment). Please...please...please...eat the REAL thing.

Some are gay, some are straight...and some are cheeseheads....

BTW...wanna know the most perfectly named "food"?
It's Cheezwhiz...cuz it looks, smells, and tastes like its name... :D

Would the first shot be at

The stewar flight attendant, the hatch attached to the plane or one nude "survivors own" Richard Hatch.
Now, be honest and you cannot shoot at me as Chuck wants to that himself.

Whatya say buddy???

Richard Hatch. Of course. He adds to the stereo-type of a 'macho gay guy' and his attitude made me vomit dayglo.
Then I'd get the hatch open so everyone could get out.

BTW - I noticed my post from earlier was missing some letters, lotsa typos. I typed them all right, but my keyboard is 'non compliant' sometimes. Although, I have been known to skip words in a sentence because I think faster than I type.  ;D

How 'bout them Packers?  (groan)

Provel... something they put on St Louis-style pizza.

In my four years of living here I have yet to really fall in love with St Louis pizza.  There is a chain known as Imo's in my town that has such pizza... thin... almost crackery... cut into squares.

Is it bad?  Not by any means.  I could live on pizza, and I especially love living in a town with several varieties to choose from.  But is it in the same league as a good NY-style pie, or a pie from an honest real Italian family-run local eatery?  Nope.  Not even close.

So... Provel is not bad... but it is not top of my list.

Best pizza that stood out for it's cheese?  James Pizza... a hole-in-the-wall bar back in PA.  Thin crust pizza with American cheese.  Never thought American cheese would be good on pizza... turns out to be extraordinary.

Wow. All I can say is thank you. It's something I was reluctant to do (coming out on here) but this thread made it alot easier. I never mentioned it because just like opinions, prejudices abound. So thanks Steph, Helen and Sanna for reminding me that, it doesn't matter. It may offend some, but it shouldn't since it doesn't affect their lives one iota.
You're absolutely right Steph, no on can tell me how to live my life, especially since they haven't walked a day in my shoes nor seen through my eyes. Only I can do those things.

Thanks for pointing that out LadyLuv. Sorry, it must have been an oversight that I didn't send the formal "Lifestyle Orientation and Beliefs System" questionnaire to see whether or not you qualified for help based on your beliefs or what you should think, be or feel. I just can't bring myself to help anyone unless they fit the cookie cutter mold of life and what it's supposed to be.  ::)

In all seriousness though, When I started to get to know you, I knew two things: 1. you were hurting and 2. I was in a position to help. To me, that's all ,.that matters and if I am in a position to help anyone, I do so to the best of my abilities.
Like my orientation though, it is something I don't discuss on the board. I learned a few lessons in my years of being in church: Don't let your right hand know what your left hand has done; so that's TWICE in one thread I am outed. LOL.

Thank you for bringing up that very interesting point though Ruthie. When it comes right down to it, we all suffer from the same malady, and whether or not someone is different from you in any way, shape or form is irrelevant, and should have no bearing on  a decision to help someone. Unfortunately that is just how some people are.

I got a PM from someone letting me know that, apparently I have been dropping clues(?) as to my orientation. I found that interesting since 1. I don't post that often and 2. I don't remember 'dropping clues' or anything but apparently I've had this agenda and.... OI!

Peace, and thanks again,
Car;

To me, it's a non-issue. I don't love cherish, respect and appreciate everyone I know, because I simply can't stand certain human traits. Sexual orientation is not on that list.

In fact, I've always wondered if I'm a lesbian trapped in a mans body.

Can't help it. I'm highly attracted to women. It started when I was a kid. Always have, always will. Hate me if you want to, but I just can't help it - that is how I am.

Marc,

You helped me finally figure myself out!  Thanx!

Carl,

I was pretty sure after meeting you in St Louis back in Jan, and it didn't change a thing to me.  I value you highly as a friend.  As you said you don't post all that much, but when you do I pay attention.  You don't answer to me, so what I think should make no difference to you at all.  I may not approve of your lifestyle, but that is between you and God, and I'm not Him!  Do I think it is wrong?  Yes, but so is adultery, and Jesus said that he that looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery in his heart, so I'm just as guilty.  It doesn't change a thing about the way I feel toward you. (or anyone else on here)  The only time I have problems with those of the gay persuasion is when they try to force their lifestyle on me or to force me to accommodate beyond a reasonable level.  You have proven yourself worthy of friendship, as have Tony and Chuck, and I am proud to call each of you friend.

Hope that made sense.

Jerry
