Does anyone bruise easily while on verapamil? Been using it for years but never had this side effect.
If its not a side effect of the verapamil then all I have to say is "UH OH" |

Don,
I'm 56 years old with 10+ years almost continuously dating Vera (between 240mg and 720mg as needed) and nope - not a sign of that. |

When I used it (for about 4 years continuously) I never noticed any increase in bruising. I was in my late 30's to early 40's.
Sure noticed how Vera and Little Elvis didn't play well together, though. |

Nope, only bruising was caused by my smart a__ mouth inflicted by a very nimble 5 foot ball of fire called my girlfriend.
May want to get that checked out! |

Uh OH!
Heres an example of how easy I'm bruising up. I wrote a phone number on my hand the other day and two days later I could still read it only in bright red. |

I brought up this discussion last month. My daughter's nuerologist said bruising is common with CH. After reading the responses I got back, I think it is fairly common in some but not all and possibly from the drugs taken for CH. She is on 240 mg of verapamil. Her doctor keeps an eye on it but doesn't seem terribly concerned.

No bruising here and been on Verapamil for 4 1/2 years.
When in doubt - google or wiki what causes easy bruising. Or best yet, ask your doc. Peace, Carl |

I have a recurrent bruise on my forearm, about 2 inches size. As soon as it has faded away after about a week, it comes back in new bright colors.
But I don't blame it on the Verapamil (840 mg/d), rather on the Aspirin (100 mg/d, slow release). [smiley=smokin.gif] |

I've always bruised easy anyway, so I may not be the best person to ask that question. ;)
But yes since being on Verap. I do notice small bruises every now and then, when I haven't done anything to cause them. Usually on my arms or legs. Like tiny blood vessels popped or something. Not sure if it's due to CH or verap. Who knows... :-/ |

hmmmmmmm no response from Don I would also suggest removing the duct tape from her wrists, I don't think she's going anywhere LOL I know he'll respond to that hehehehehe I wouldn't worry to much about it Don, give the Doc a call and he'll give you an idea of what it might be from. |
