Title: Any news about OUCH? Post by Artonio on Aug 27th, 2009 at 11:51pm
Is anything new going on with OUCH regarding the input of the members?
I'm curious to know what the BoD has decided to do with the website... and what the progress of that committee is. This is in no way shape or form intended to be inflammatory, derogatory or negative. with warm regards, Tony |

Title: Re: Any news about OUCH? Post by ClusterChuck on Aug 29th, 2009 at 11:13pm The officers and BoD need to realize that all the excitement and enthusiasm that was so evident, at the convention, is going to get lost, if there are not any signs that something is being done. I thought that it was VERY evident, that one of the biggest problems is that the membership saw no action, or signs that anything was being done. Jim was very receptive and understanding of that image. Now the powers that be need to take action on that. Some suggestions of things that would be VERY much appreciated would be things like: Post things that you are discussing. Post projects that are being undertaken. Post some of the discussions that are being done about the new website. Post ANYTHING to show that SOMETHING is being discussed and even done !!! Please don't lose the excitement and support that was so evident at St. Louis. That WILL happen if we don't see any signs of movement. What about the election that we were told is going to be happening? It really frustrates us when we see no action or reports. We have seen nothing since Jim's excellent summary of the convention, with his reports. We are excited! We want to see activity. PLEASE don't continue to keep us in the dark! PLEASE Notice: In NO way is this meant to be derogatory or inflammatory! This is a begging of keeping us informed and excited! Chuck |

Have either of you contacted Helen, Jim, or Linda by PM to see what is up? I know both of you mean well, but I am worried threads like this could become a group of people complaining about a lack of progress BEFORE we even find out what is happening.
The conference had a ton of positive energy and ideas but there were also HUGE holes and only a few people currently able to begin the process. Anyway..... since it is public..... would any of the BoD have a chance to give us a quick update? |

No complaints about lack of progress coming from me... not even complaining, just inquiring. It would be allot easier to let us all know of the progress in one fell swoop on this forum rather than taking time to write a hundred or so individual emails to the entire membership. with warm regards, Tony |

I may be speaking out of turn here, but I understand that several of the board members/directors are really getting hammered right now.

That is one of the "Problems" of our system. :'( Not a criticism at all! We all suffer from the same malady, and when it hits it takes about all we have to give just to deal with it, let alone an unpaid, open to criticism, office. Hope all settles down quickly for all involved, and you can get back on your feet. I'm sure the letdown from the stress of the convention didn't do any favors. I know relaxation triggers me more quickly than anything else.Jerry |

Linda,
I don't think any of us had any doubts that you were working on it. If I gave that impression I'm sorry. I think it was simply a matter of not having heard anything. I know I've been checking the OUCH board, but had not bothered to email. I was just assuming things would be announced as they happened, and did not want to be a pest. After the enthusiasm of the convention I guess we were looking for to much to soon. :-[ Hope you get some PF time and can focus on things without having the beast looking over your shoulder. Lord knows you have enough of us doing that! :) Jerry |

I'm sorry for my absence from here.. but - with the greatest of respect to EVERYONE here... "Here" isn't where I expect to read questions about OUCH.
I understand peoples eagerness for us to have a board up and running. I'm glad we're going to be able to do that but in the meantime, please contact us through the OUCH website or by email. My own email is on my posts here, you don't have to look far for it! The OUCH link is to the left, please use either. I completely agree about everyone being able to read everything in one fell swoop. It's in progress, please bear with us. |
