Antioch is a sleepy little town at the mouth of the delta where I lived prior to moving to N.C., never thought something like what I saw on the news would happen there.

Well, I know the Antioch Baptist Church from the Charlie Daniels song 'Uneasy Rider'. But it's not Antioch CA, for sure. :)

My thought is that it's easier to remember when something so familiar as John Wayne" is part of it. It's a sort of nemonic.

In my part of the world we don't hear a lot about American serial killers.
I guess we hear it now, coz the case is somewhat similar to the two Austrian cases.

The only two cases I clearly remember being on Dutch news, was Jeffrey Dahmer and more than a decade later Dennis Rader.
Maybe it's because there are just no more serial killer heroes like in the seventies and eighties, haha.

My wife thinks it's weird but I'm also intrigued be serial killers. I live 10 miles from Antioch and have been following on the local news. This case gets more and more bizarre every day!

I don't think it's weird. Serial killers are the closest to true evil we can encounter, and the fact we cannot understand their actions just goes to show us we are indeed normal and have empathy for the victims.
