Title: Melatonin update
Post by REDS DAD on Sep 1st, 2009 at 12:36pm
Good morning all;
I just wanted to give you a follow up on my melatonin experience.
I've been taking 10mg nightly for 5 days now and had great results, till last night.
From day #1, I had ZERO NIGHT HITS. Last night I stayed up late to watch something I really wanted to see on the tube.
At 3:35 I got a hit (only a 3 or 4 on kip scale) It only lasted about 5 minutes.
I've NEVER had a problem with dairy but I did slam a pint of ice cream while watching t.v.
Although I'm new to this forum, I've been dealing with the "beast" for years. I'm learning alot about "triggers" from reading posts here.
Do new triggers emerge with time? Is it possible that dairy now feeds my "beast"?
I'd hate to give up ice cream. I recently quit smoking after 35 years and the cream has been my new drug of choice.
F.Y.I., in my case, smoking did not have any effect on my C.H.'s. Nothing changed when I quit.
Your Friend;
Mike

I have to give Melatonin a try myself. Now the only time I get any problems is when I try to sleep. I dont even have hits when i'm awake anymore.
Milk is a trigger for me.....upsets me because I used to eat cereal any time of the day or nite.
Dairy COULD be a trigger.....we're all different, as u know...
and some things which used to be a trigger aren't anymore....
