Title: Exercise?
Post by nate1064 on Sep 3rd, 2009 at 4:02pm
Does exercise help or hurt when you are in a cycle?

I thought it would help but got a good CH right after exercising yesterday.

For some it helps, for some others it's a trigger and then there are clusterheads (like me) where it doesn't make a difference (neither good nor bad).

Never felt that motivated to exercise while in a cycle.
Spent too much time waiting for the next hit and still feeling sore from the last one.

I discovered that exercise did shorten the hit. Leg exercise or anything that drew blood away from the head to other muscles seemed to work.

Exercise has never brought on a hit for me while on cycle. Before I discovered oxygen I'd go for 'max out" runs when an attack started. Like Charlie said, it seemed to alleviate the intensity of the hit. Many on the board have posted that exercising, especially if they overheat, will trigger an attack. Trial and error! ;)

For some:
exercise during a CH cycle may trigger an attack.

For some:
streneous exercise at the beginning of an attack will abort it.

I definitely feel less motivated to work out when I'm in a cycle but it DOES help some, I've noticed.  I go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week for stress management anyway.

Flat out, heart pounding exercise was a very effective abortive for me.

Now, with high flow O2 therapy - I'm getting lazy.......
