What is everyone doing over Labor Day weekend?

John and I are taking the girls, +6 friends on a float down the Current River.  I'm looking forward to spending a few days enjoying nature.  3 Days with no tv, phones, etc. sounds like heaven right now.

Maybe you'll float into Deej and Steph?  I think they are floating somewhere this weekend, too!

A quick run to Myrtle Beach, SC tomorrow for a race......then true to the holiday's name.....laboring in the yard Sunday and Monday....if everything goes to plan. It usually doesn't......

Wash car, yard work, grill some poor animal. 

I'm starting off right now eating some chips & dip for a 3pm lunch. ::)

Taking the kids to the Portage County Fair this evening to wear them out with their wristbands.

well here's what we're doing. Tonight Patty and a friend visiting from Denver are going to hang out with some other college friends. So we'll be kid-less. Think we'll go to dinner and maybe go dancing. Stranger things have happened. Or he may suprise me with better plans. ;)

Tomorrow I'm planning to pack stuff up from my Gramma's house which is FINALLY in escrow. Joe hasn't had a day off in a long time so he'll probably putz in the yard. But it's so dang hot who knows.

Sunday I'm having a Pampered Chef party (yay) so I'll be busy with that and Joe has to go back to work.  Monday Joe works so I'll probably just hang out. I think Patty and her friend have plans all weekend.

Kinders would be great. But since I am here now I would hate to do a disservice to North Carolina BBQ.
I feel it is my duty to find a great place to eat here.
With Kinders, I have something to look forward to when I visit.

We are taking a weeks vacation at our time share in Lake Geneva WI.  Didn't feel like flying to the Orlando FL one this year.  We traded the one Prime week in Orlando for one week in Lake Geneva and one week in St. Louis.  We will be in St. Louis the end of the month for a church convention.  This week we will be playing lots of golf, eating out, relaxing, sleeping in, enjoying the sunsets, go for walks, just the two of us.  A nice get away from all that is going on around here with the kids and grandkids. 

Finish painting the east side of the house and an antique car show with city fireworks around the corner. Terrible "music" there too.

I'm not trying to make you feel envious, but we're going to the Highland Games tomorrow to a) watch our neice play rugby, and b) see literally hundreds of men in kilts heaving stones, throwing battle axes, and tossing cabers.

I was a spotter for a team running in a regional NASCAR series for more than a few years. Since that deal came to an end, I'm just a seat warmer in the stands.  ;)

Beach and more beach. So far the weather is cooperating but my friend and I each got a $75 ticket from our dogs because the ranger said we weren't holding on to the leash ::) Looks like I may have to go to court again!

A float is getting in a canoe and paddling/floating down the river.  There were a couple of inflatable rafts and kayaks.

Back and had a great time.  The weekend went by way too fast.

Wash the car.........didnt do it
Weed whack..........didnt do it
Clean the shed.......didn't do it
Clean the closets....didn't do it

Saturday and Sunday were spent cutting a pine down to size.  You ever cut down a tree that's 20" across with a 14" chainsaw?  Damed thing looked like a bever brought it down  ;D

Sunday night we had a nice fire.  My kids came and went all night.  Evan and Jenna came back from their honeymoon.  Landed at 9pm and were out back with us by 10:30pm.

Monday we didn't do much  8-)

All in all it was a great weekend  ;)

On Sat I took part in the 50th Liffey Descent. It's a huge canoeing race over 18 miles and covering 12 huge weirs from Kildare to Dublin.

Over 1000 boats took part from K1's and 2's right through to Canadians. I put a link up for Straffan weir the first of many, it was absolute carnage, but great craic though. I swam with the fishies many times.. ;)

Labor day weekend went way too fast.  :p

Got married (No, Linda, I didn't wear a jacket, my beanie, gloves, etc.  It is Warm in the South SF bay unlike in that cold air conditioned hotel!)  ;D
Had our honeymoon in Half Moon Bay-
Walked a ways, went to the beach a few times.  Had great clam chowders.  We had a Blast!  I've Never seen nicer weather in HMB!!  It was clear, warm, sunny!!!  8-) I will post some pics in another thread for those of you who asked soon.   ;)
