Title: Happy Labor Day! Post by Lizzie2 on Sep 6th, 2009 at 10:53pm
How's everyone doing? I'm sorry I haven't been around in forever! Been very busy with work and preparing to start school this week! I'm going back for 2 degrees this fall. Pediatric Acute/Chronic Nurse Practitioner and a Master of Bioethics - at the end of it all, I hope to work in pediatric neurology as a nurse practitioner - and in pediatric headaches, if I can swing it! :-P
Anyway - sorry I haven't been around! I miss you all! Glad I get to connect with some of you on Facebook!! :) Hugz, Carrie :) |

L'Chaim!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need a wine glass to break! Are you sure 2 degrees are enough? I thin Kevin Bacon had 6. Rock on and roll over anything that may be in your way! The other saying! |

Haha thank you! Well I already have 2, so if I finish both of these, that will bring my total to 4! Am I getting close yet? :-P Seriously, I think after these 2, I'm officially finished with school until the end of eternity...! This fall is shaping up to be the craziest schedule I've ever had in my life - working full-time plus 2 classes and various other endeavors....!
This time though, I broke the piggy bank - I decided to go back to school at the University of Pennsylvania. Very excited!!! :) My entire goal for the past several years has been to eventually work in the headache field in some capacity. I don't know if I'll ever be able to work solely in headaches, but I would like to have enough knowledge to really be able to see a lot of pediatric headache patients. I've spent the last 4.5 years in the neonatal ICU and have really found my love with the neuro patients. So if someday I work with kids who have seizures, cerebral palsy and other things that may have started in the NICU setting, I'd be very very happy with that, too. I don't know for sure where I'll end up, but I have definitely decided that pediatric neurology is a goal. I know it's going to be a very tough 2-3 years, but I'm excited about where it will take me in the long run. Thanks for your response Jeff. :) |
