Title: New and need to share Post by hannahgittle on Sep 7th, 2009 at 9:06am
Hi, I am new to this site. Just wanting to share my experiences. No need to go into the pain and frustration, as you all know it :'( I have tried healers, acupuncture, chiro, herbs etc.etc. I refused all meds. I have oxygen tanks everywhere :) I travel and can not take my tanks and sadly have to suffer thru my attacks. After so many years of the pain....I gave in to Western Meds and starting taking Neurontin. Kicking and screaming, yet just wanted the pain to GO AWAY!!!! Happy to report it has been 6 weeks and aside from a few "twinges" I have been pain free!!!!!!! Side effects have been minimal. I take my largest dose right before bed time. Yes, I am feeling a bit spacey, however spacey better than in pain.
I hope to wean off within the next month once I know cycle has been broken. Will keep you posted. |

[smiley=wave.gif] Hello and Welcome to the board hannahgittle
I'm glad you found something to help with the pain, we all know how awful it is. Have you looked into smaller tanks to take with for for travel? If nothing else ask your doc maybe he will prescribe a smaller on for travel occasions. |

I am a big supporter of alternative therapies, but have yet to hear of any modalities that can manage this kind of pain.
Glad you found something that worked. |

Great stuff! I hope this works in the future for you too. I don't use oxygen, because it's kinda expense for me.. as I don't have alot of money.. :-\ But, hope everything turns out well.
