Title: Not yet diagnosed.. is this normal? Post by B on Sep 9th, 2009 at 4:48am
Hi!
I am new to this board and a very worried wife. It has been suggested by a doctor that my husband has cluster headaches and he has been referred to a neurologist, but has not yet had an appointment. He is getting headaches similar to some described here but last Sunday he also became unconscious afterwards.. for about 5 or so minutes. We are in the UK and have been back to the GP.. but trying to get an appointment at a hospital quickly is impossible.. the NHS is not the best! What I am trying to establish is the unconsious part a normal symptom of cluster headaches or should I be worried that it is something else and be raising more hell with the hospital? :( Thanks in advance B |

Can't say anything except one step at the time
and keep the faith alive. It's uncommon for clusters to get uncoscious. But a neurologist will be the one to sort this out. I think some members here have a list with good neurologists in UK for clusters. Remember one step at the time as sometimes things get bigger in our thoughts than they really are. Big hugs to you and your husband sending vibes there |

Raise hell. Don't mean to cause you more concern but get your husband to a specialist so anything more sinister can be ruled out.
CH can be managed, better safe than sorry. All the Best. Cheers for being a supporter. :) |

Thanks for your answers!
Am currently trying to raise hell..! He went to A&E yesterday twice (once by ambulance) as he got really bad and got scared..! Unfortunately they just poked him a bit and sent him home..!!! Going to ring his neurologist again today to try and get them moving.. If we know its cluster headaches at least we know what to expect.. but as u say at the moment its unknown and other things need to be ruled out! |

I wish you well in your new found journey.
The information on this site will give you the knowledge and the strength to battle the ignorance that lives within the medical community. Never let an uneducated and unsymathetic MD dicourage you. Find one with an open mind. All the best :) |
